We're in the very fortunate position of being on holiday over the Christmas and new year period. Hand luggage only. I'd love some gift ideas for two girls aged 7 and 10 that take up virtually no luggage space please! I've already thought of local currency, Amazon vouchers and swimming costumes!

Tamagotchi
Lego dots bracelet
Vtech Kidizoom
Paint by Sticker book - there are kids versions which would be more suitable for a 7yo
Hair clips and hair ties
Clip on earrings
Charm bracelet

Some questions which might help us with appropriate suggestion. How far into your holiday is Christmas Day? How long are you there after Christmas? what kind of holiday is it (skiing? Beach? City?)

JamieFrasersBigSwingingKilt · 16/10/2022 12:12

Thanks @RockingMyFiftiesNot Christmas is on day 2. We're city first and then on to beach.

If you are planning on buying new clothes /cap/hat/sunglasses for holiday, you could wrap them up with Christmas being early in the holiday.
SPF lipsalve in fruity flavours
Inflatable beach ball; frisbee; pocket kite.
Books/magazines bought at the airport - am fairly sure you'd get away with a WHSmiths carrier bag in addition to your carry on luggage? You could also buy some of their favourite sweets/chocolate at the airport too.
Bum bags for their money.
Puzzle books
If they don't have it already, Pass the Pigs is a fab compact game.
New playing cards are always more fun than old ones! Or Top Trumps? Relevant ISpy books (just had a quick look to check you can still get them - there's an ispy at the airport) - maybe they could have an early Christmas Stocking before you leave home with things for the flight?

Homemade Vouchers to cash in during the year eg

cinema trip

get takeaway of their choice

stay up late

hot chocolate with toppings

Get out of jail card like skip music practice/get out of chore

my kids love these and can put terms and conditions on and make them look official!

kateandme · 17/10/2022 22:37
