What are you putting in adult crackers this year?

I’m a bit stumped this year.
I’ll be putting a good quality nail varnish in mine 🤣 I usually put scratch cards in them too.
I’ve previously done
mini shower gels
lip balm
seeds
miniatures of brandy, whisky etc
personalised bottle openers
hand cream
pillow sprays
socks
usb sticks
Things such as ties, cuff links etc wouldn’t be used by any of them

I’ve previously bought cracker kits from M&S and Hobbycraft but last year I got some that were already made up, just one side open to pop the gift in. They were pretty good so I got an extra pack for this year.
I always cut the snap as the bang scares of of our dogs.
@SpringIntoChaos 😊 I like to put bits in them that people will use, small shower gels sheet mask, bottle opener, alcohol, all stuff that will not end up going straight in the bin.

Erm...I buy a pack of shiny silver crackers from Tesco, full of cheap tat, and bung them in the table. Like most people 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Filling your own is hardly rare.

I buy the really cheap ones preferably for £1 or so without tatt in (just a joke, hat and stickers) and then add my own prizes.

After 10 years I dont need ANOTHER tiny note books, metal puzzles no one knows how to use, set of micro screwdrivers, plastic name tags, 1 random tiddlywink frog and tweezers/nail clippers - Ive got better things to spend £5+ on.

I find women really easy to get things for.

For blokes I've done:

Microfibre lens cleaning cloth [for specs, sunglasses, cameras]
Lens cleaning spray [as above]
Tiny torches
Those annoying puzzles with interlocking wooden bits
Reels of coloured electrical tape
Highlighter pen
Expensive: usb memory stick/flash drive

I know many women who use those things. Maybe just stick with generic stuff. People are individuals after all.

Oh I love the scratchcard idea. Last year I did a Lucky Dip where each cracker had a number which related to a present in a box (all cheap but useful things like resuable coffee cup, hot water bottle, torch, umbrella).

VeruccaSalty · 09/11/2022 00:26

We don't buy presents for adults though, which is why it was nice to do something a bit fancier with the crackers

Where do get the miniatures? I'd like to get some but looked in Tesco's yesterday and couldn't see any.

Startuplife · 09/11/2022 16:43

I’ve seen them in Tesco and Sainsbury’s recently in sets of 3 or 4. They both had plastic options. Otherwise there’s lots of websites like The Bottle Club where they sell them individually if you want specific ones.

YorkieTheRabbit · 09/11/2022 17:01

@thestuffthatdreamsaremadeof I’ve bought them from Amazon previously. There are some sets on Ocado, three or four bottles whiskey, gin etc.

Our slightly scruffy newsagents which used to be a bargain booze does them behind the till. I spent ages looking recently. Apart from that, delis sometimes have them, or our local wine shop has some too. Failing that, as pp have said, gift packs at this time of year in supermarkets, or online.

Hotel Chocolat sells miniatures of it's chocolate liqueur

StillWeRise · 10/11/2022 22:55

RSPB have lovely little enamel badges of birds and other wildlife

reluctantbrit · 11/11/2022 07:46

I get the ones from Hotel Chocolate. No tat or thinking what is suitable for everyone.

VeruccaSalty · 11/11/2022 09:33

Ooh our vet has those RSBP badges, another fab idea! I think one of them and a £1 scratchcard is what I shall do. Thanks!
