Gaming Chair

Looking for recommendations for a gaming chair please....didn't realise they were so expensive so I really don't want to get a dud!

Looking on Amazon, a lot of the reviews seem to be "paid for" so it's really hard to get some proper feedback. It's for a big 16 YO - ideally about £150, many thanks

Heard good things about the X Rocker chairs www.argos.co.uk/product/9471575?clickSR=slp:term:x%20rocker:14:114:1

Not sure if the height would be an issue, depends if he's sat at a desk

place marking as this is on DS's list and as you say, they are expensive so want to get the right one.... I've been trying to think of somewhere to go to try them out as there are a couple of different types (rockers v static etc) I wonder whether Curry's would have them in to sit on??

this is my issue as some of the ones you see online look quite short and DS is sat at a desk?

We have 1 from gtforce.co.uk and it's brilliant, there are quite a few currently reduced

Hmm maybe need something higher then. I hear that mesh chairs are decent and comfortable for offices, might work? No bells and whistles but good airflow. I'd think a memory foam type pillow might be needed too though for extra comfort if gaming for long periods: www.amazon.co.uk/CAPTAIN-REALM-THRONES-Saddle-inspired-Adjustable/dp/B094BY5GCS/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?crid=2UODT3J4L4SU4&keywords=mesh+office+chair&qid=1665743036&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI3LjM1IiwicXNhIjoiNy4wNSIsInFzcCI6IjYuMTgifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=Mesh+off%2Caps%2C107&sr=8-5

thanks @Tittyfilarious81 will have a look at that ....
thanks @ChristmasClouds but he has something like that currently, but wants a gaming one with all the mod cons :)

Peterthegreatest · 14/10/2022 14:39

Thank you @ChristmasClouds & @Tittyfilarious81 ! Going to look through what you recommend now...

Let me know how you get on @anoldcharter as DS is gaming at a desk so we do need a higher one too but less bothered about the bells and whistles. He's just snapped the back off his cheap ikea office chair by lunging back in it 🙄

will do @Peterthegreatest

Peterthegreatest · 14/10/2022 14:53

Thanks @QuietBatperson15 - it's unfortunately OOS on ebay but off to check it out elsewhere

@Tittyfilarious81 the gt ones look fab but there are lots of models without much difference between them from what I can see (not looking for speakers etc), so any tips on how you made a decision would be gratefully received!

@Peterthegreatest this is the 1 I got for my son it's a little more than the 150 but worth it
gtforce.co.uk/products/pro-fx-white-reclining-racing-gaming-chair-with-footrest

It's got adjustable height a high back and adjustable arm rest and my son can use it easily at his desk it's a great size

Thelifeofawife · 15/10/2022 15:24

I wouldn’t bother with X Rocker, I bought my son one for his birthday and it only lasted a few months, cost me nearly £200!
Prior to this he had a random make from eBay which cost approx £80 and lasted years!

MrsPerfect12 · 15/10/2022 19:36

I bought my son a rocker for his birthday,
it's great it's not. Sound and light up one as his gaming station does all that. The hair we got is on wheels like an office chair.
It was around £100 Gaming chair
