I got a really good deal on one of the body shop calendars for my 13yo. It's one of her Christmas presents as I wouldn't usually spend that much on one but I just couldn't resist.

Bomb Cosmetics

Iwasjustasking · 08/10/2022 07:34

24 days of face masks

00100001 · 08/10/2022 07:35

A Cadbury one.

Last year I got her a Revolution beauty one - very neutral stuff and brushes etc. she thought it was great!
This year have got the body shop one but only because I got a discount. I know she will love it.
I had toyed with the idea of making my own using numbered paper bags and mixing it up with sweets/bits and pieces but then thought I'd probably end up spending even more doing that.

I liked the look of the Paperchase stationery one but after discussion with dd she said she would rather have a chocolate one as she’s been disappointed with anything fancy before. She probably would love a voucher to spend for herself there though!

orbitalcrisis · 08/10/2022 18:12

At that age whatever was half price on the 1st!

FionnulaTheCooler · 08/10/2022 18:16

Reeses peanut butter one. I got a fancy charm bracelet one a couple of years ago and she was disappointed it wasn't a chocolate one so I just get a sweetie one now.

Snoopsnoggysnog · 08/10/2022 18:19

DD and I are sharing the Asos beauty one and I’ll get chocolate ones as well. She loves Percy pig - do they have an advent calendar?

last year she had Holland and Barratt but we both thought that was a bit meh. The year before, she had Body Shop and I had Occitane, we shared both.

I’m boycotting the Body Shop now due to their ridiculous tweets about JK Rowling. That’s another thread though.

My 13yo has been off Lego for a few years. She had a stationery one, a cosmetic one and last year a cath kidston one. This year I found a cheap wowcher deal on a Swarovski jewellery advent. Looks tacky as anything but I think she will like it e.g. snowflake necklace with tiny bit of bling, Pandora style bracelet, little sparkly earrings. Just hoping she doesn’t end up with green ear lobes from the metals.
Her younger brother is still team Lego and I ordered the guardians of the galaxy one for him.

@Snoopsnoggysnog
percy pig advent calendar in M&S today!
but only real Percy pigs on Xmas eve, other days are Percy shaped chocolates

My Dd is only 11 but having a 24 days of socks!

Snoopsnoggysnog · 09/10/2022 10:08

Yes! Just saw the Percy calendar, but how disappointing! Could they not put a sweet in each door?

ooh thanks for reminding me. I got DH a socks advent calendar in the John Lewis sale last year - total bargain and he’s always moaning about missing socks.

reluctantbrit · 09/10/2022 14:41

Apart from last year's Body Shop one, most where a bit disappointing for DD.

So this year I may just go with a. really nice chocolate one (most likely the Lindt teddy one) and a small gift each Advent Sunday. This is what we did when she was smaller.

DialsMavis · 09/10/2022 14:45

Revolution Grinch one, it was £32 even with a voucher code, but it is part of her birthday and christmas budget and she doesnt ever ask for anything expensive so I like to surprise her sometimes.

Jedstre · 09/10/2022 14:47

People mentioning body shop deals and discounts, are they still available or any codes you know of? I like the look of the advent calendars this year for dd

Carrieonmywaywardsun · 09/10/2022 14:56

My 14 yo niece is getting the ultimate body shop one, it never disappoints and I love them as a brand
