Ever since we were kids everyone has had presents from the dogs and they have also received presents or stockings .
It's really not madness is it lol 😂

Our dog is very generous, so were the rabbit and chickens.

Gr33ngr33ngr4ss · 06/10/2022 20:24

My mum used to get me presents from the dogs, the fish...

Flipside, my husband took the dog shopping to buy her a new coat for Christmas 🙄

Theimpossiblegirl · 06/10/2022 20:25

My dog gets excellent gifts for the family.

PuttingDownRoots · 06/10/2022 20:27

I often buy presents for friends dogs (or cats). Usually people who buy our DDs something but have no kids themselves.

This is what we have bought for one already

We have an only child so he always gets a gift from his fur sister! And the dog also gets a stocking from Santa...

Quveas · 07/10/2022 17:26

No of course the dog doesn't get people Christmas presents. He knows full well that SANTA PAWS brings all the presents from his kennels at the North Pole, so he just howls him a letter as to what people would like.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 07/10/2022 17:30

My dog proudly presented me with a live (unharmed) stolen chicken once, but that was at Easter rather than Christmas.

RNLD1981 · 07/10/2022 17:31

I thought you meant actually taking the dog to the shops rather than buying gifts in their behalf and taking the money from their purse

Cameleongirl · 07/10/2022 17:31

Our dog receives presents, but doesn't give them...unless you count the odd poo on the carpet. 😂

Happyhome21 · 07/10/2022 19:52

John Lewis is a dog friendly shop
Perfect for human and doggie Christmas shopping
My dog was made very welcome especially in the beauty department

elQuintoConyo · 07/10/2022 20:45

DS gets goofy socks from the dog, wrapped ridiculously with fur in the sellotape 😆

SoggyChipswithVinegar · 07/10/2022 20:48

My dog spent £500 on my gift last year
he had to work very hard to earn that chasing balls.

Workinghardeveryday · 07/10/2022 20:49

From a dog lover - omg. Please please don’t tell me I have to do more presents!!!

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 07/10/2022 23:35

Santa Paws has been coming to ours for years.

The dogs and cat also shop for their Daddy, grannie and gramps. They used to shop for their sister and brother but doggy pocket money doesn’t stretch to teens now. Cost of living you know.

Thelifeofawife · 08/10/2022 10:13

My dog gives and receives presents and cards.
She loves it when Santa Paws visits. She is a real fan of playing with wrapping paper (typical child).
She also loves buying things for GrandPaw (my dad) 😁

3catsandcounting · 08/10/2022 10:17

Our eldest cat, the sensible one, dusts off her (imaginary) cart which sits in the garage, and off she goes to the shops every first week in December to buy on behalf of her sisters, who would have not a clue.

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 08/10/2022 10:28

I love the image of elderly cat dusting off her cart to go and be the sensible one, whilst those youngsters just gad about with no thought to the rest of the family. Pfffft. Typical youth of today.

Theraffarian · 08/10/2022 11:20

Of course our cats don’t give presents to their humans , that would be absurd . Obviously they give to the other furry friends in the family , and duly hang their own Santa paws stocking with an expectant air .

MrsElf · 08/10/2022 23:22

PuttingDownRoots that is brilliant and now the Elfdogs need to know where they came from!
They use a little of their wages to shop for favourite humans (mostly dog walking accessories, like wooly hats and welly socks, sometimes self portrait-y key rings/cuff links/socks) and their friends (treats/toys). Sometimes they come to the pet shop/Countrywide to give their opinions, and they generally look over the iPad while we’re shopping from the sofa. These gifts are wrapped in appropriate Christmas dog paper/fabric. (They assist in all wrapping more’s the pity.) Elfpup dictates a card to his family, and sends biscuits for them and their humans.
Obviously they have presents from us, each other, and a stocking from SantaPaws. (And an advent calendar, Christmas bedding, Christmas dinner mats, reappearing Christmas toys, jumpers… most of which DH insists is madness!)

Bananaman123 · 09/10/2022 11:45

My dog uses the paw print wrapping paper from pets at home 😁

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 09/10/2022 20:05

Our family hounds GET gifts but don't give them, the selfish fluffies!

Stompythedinosaur · 10/10/2022 10:50

Yup, our dog buys dog-themed gifts for the dc.

When I was a kid my cat bought me a small gift each year. This was deliberately badly wrapped, with cat fur stuck in the sellotape (on account of the fact that the cat wrapped it herself).

Clearly dm was mad, but I wish to pass it on as a family tradition!

SirenSays · 10/10/2022 11:00

My dogs are lazy and only buy gifts for all the animals in the family. They still demand they add their name to every other card and gift tag though.

ClaryFairchild · 10/10/2022 11:23

My ex had a cat as a child that always got some fresh fish wrapped up on Christmas Day. After he moved out into a flat (couldn't take the cat with him as used to roaming in the countryside) no one thought about it and it took a few days for them to work out why the cat was acting so grumpy. Then when his mum realised she quickly wrapped some fish up and "found" it behind the Christmas tree. Order was restored and the cat was happy once again.
