A lot of them are closed Christmas Eve or only have limited rides available. Which one were you thinking of?

MsMiaWallace · 01/10/2022 18:19

Maybe Drayton Manor?

They're closed aren't they?

Youcancallmeirrelevant · 01/10/2022 18:20

Most theme parks are closed in winter

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 01/10/2022 18:46

Think they will be closed. Most tend to close end of october half term and then generally reopen feb half term

YumYummy · 01/10/2022 18:49

Some are open for special Xmas events and have a Santa’s grotto.

Maybe Drayton Manor?

Sadly shut all through December.

Rainbowcat77 · 01/10/2022 18:54

We did Gullivers world one year, I think a lot do special Santa packages. It was a really lovely day out and felt very Christmassy.

We did Chester zoo last year which was unexpectedly good fun and quite busy.

Drayton manor is open

Not sure why so many people are stating as fact it will be shut. Drayton manor absolutely is open on Christmas Eve for its Draytons Magical Christmas event, which in my experience it’s mainly the Thomas Land area rides open and lots of Christmas theming and activities going on. I’ve always loved it though haven’t been in a few years. I think it’s a lovely idea.

The only downside would be it takes up a lot of organisation and energy at an already busy time - usually Christmas Eve I have a last minute to do list and bits and bobs to sort out so not sure I’d book a whole day thing.

Drayton Manor is open we've been lots of times over the Xmas period. They are open on Xmas Eve. I prefer to go a few days before Xmas but that's just because I find it a tiring day and like to have more of a chill on Xmas Eve but the atmosphere is lovely. We went last year having not been for two years and the whole Santa experience was so much better than it used to be
Chessington is also lovely at Xmas but it's a lot further away for us

Apologies then - I went to their site, looked at their calendar of open days and it showed all of December was unavailable as the park is closed. On that basis I made my earlier post, but it appears you know better than I. Sorry for any confusion.

One person, just one 🤣

pantsville · 02/10/2022 13:31

… okay then 🤔

mam0918 · 03/10/2022 12:51

My DS a new year baby and we always do something (as parties for kids is hard on new year) theme parks often dont close for down season until Jan 6th, many have stuff on through xmas and new year (although things might be themed/limited).

iRun2eatCake · 06/10/2022 17:26

When DC were little we did Gulivers in Milton Keynes and had breakfast with 🎅 there.

When got bigger went to Twin Lakes.

Now we do Panto and takeaway

gogohmm · 06/10/2022 17:30

I've been to London zoo, was really nice - the staff were excellent as always but with added tinsel

MrsMontyD · 07/10/2022 06:58

I wouldn't want to do that personally, I like to keep Christmas Eve as chilled as possible, we usually do any last minute shopping in the morning (pick up the cheese order type shopping not present shopping) have a nice lunch out and then settle in, there's always lots to do at home.

Cosycover · 07/10/2022 07:17

Drayton Manor is amazing at Christmas. But I wouldn't go Christmas eve. We go on the Friday first week of December. It kicks off Christmas for us.
