Hi everybody, I'm looking for some recommendations for a London trip in early December with my 7 year old daughter. We've been to Frozen, and Winter Wonderland although I've booked it again as she was only 4 the last time we went there. We know london pretty well although we are travelling from Ireland. I'm looking for a grotto experience , or a show- maybe a pantomime....any recommendations gratefully received....

Afternoon tea at Fortnum and Mason then walk over to Southbank Centre.
Last year the 14 year old and 4 year old loved it.

The Hackney Empire pantomimes are great. Ice skating at one of the outdoor rinks is always lovely. The one at Somerset House is my favourite. Lightopia is a nice chilled evening activity.

I would search museums/galleries/venues like Kew Gardens and look at Time Out nearer the time for special events as well.

Skating at Somerset House?
Look for a good panto or family Christmas show. NT usually does one.
Food shop at Fortnum's for traditional things like sugar mice for the tree.
Trip to Hamleys or Harrods to look at toys.

Thank you for your replies, I'm looking at the Snowman show or possibly a panto, ideally a matinée, I find the little ones get tired and a bit overwhelmed when you pack in too much! The santa in Leicester Square was lovely preCovid so we might take a walk round there to see him...thanks again

Covent Garden is beautiful at Christmas

I would recommend seeing a classic Christmas film at Prince Charles cinema in Leicester Sq, and then having a wander to carnaby street. You usually bump into a Salvation Army band on the way which always feels festive. You can then pop into Liberty’s if you want or perhaps head to Hamleys. (Depends how you feel about crowds!!) Followed by a Hot Chocolate at Italian Bear Chocolate.

Back to the Future musical is fantastic. Think it had two swearwords in tho.
