How many activities have you/will you be booking for Christmas?

OP posts:
starsparkle08 · 28/09/2022 09:31

I’ve booked Lapland uk mid December and pantomime Xmas eve

Sisisimone · 28/09/2022 09:41

I've booked a weekend away mid Dec to Xmas markets, a light trail, panto and will book santa grotto visit when it becomes available. Usually book something for dd and her friends to go to as well

IDontDrinkTea · 28/09/2022 09:42

We’ve booked a local polar express type trip, and a light trail event. Also going to the panto. Writing it out though I think perhaps I’ve gone a bit OTT 😂

Sisisimone · 28/09/2022 09:44

No such thing as OTT at Christmas IDontDrinkTea 🤣

mam0918 · 28/09/2022 10:23

Havent booked anything yet... would like to book pantomime and want to see santa but that will just be the free shopping center one where you just turn up.

DenholmElliot1 · 28/09/2022 10:26

We're cutting right back this Xmas so it's just carols at the royal Albert hall, Christmas at Kew, 5 nights in Lapland, skating at Somerset house, winter wonderland at Hyde park, Xmas wreath making, breakfast with Santa and the panto at Birmingham hippodrome.

Stompythedinosaur · 28/09/2022 10:31

Currently have Disney on Ice in early Dec and a panto just before Christmas. Thinking I might add a Christmas lights display at a local garden. Plus an overnight with my work friends, and a trip to London after Xmas to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child which is a gift. It seems like a lot now it is written down!

elQuintoConyo · 28/09/2022 10:44

We´ll go and see the festive sand sculptures on a local beach on boxing day, as we always do, blow the cobwebs away.

DS school usually have half price tickets for the skating rink, so we might do that ovet the holidays.

Oher than that, making gingerbread cand watching the Muppets is all we manage to fit in, Xmas is a busy time for all of us (we´re teachers).

DenholmElliot1 that made me laugh!

ParentallyUnprepared · 28/09/2022 13:28

We are going to The Flight before Christmas. It's new this year so I hope it's good.

I might take my eldest to a panto. That's a nice idea. Thanks!

Flopisfatteningbingforchristmas · 28/09/2022 14:41

We will just do a couple because the kids’ last day of school is the 23rd December so there isn’t much time.

MovinOnUp · 28/09/2022 14:47

We're having an afternoon in Edinburgh, Afternoon tea at the Waldorf Astoria and a mooch round the Christmas market.

That'll be it for this year.
We'll just have to come up with some free/low cost things to do at home/nearby

Devo1818 · 28/09/2022 14:48

Santa at a local grotto - 4th Dec
Panto - mid December
Polar Express - 22nd
Ice skating - 28th

Aside from that there'll be school stuff, probably carols at a church. We are going into London to see the lights on Christmas eve and having people round on the 23rd, a couple of family get togethers.

Really want to see the new Matilda film coming out at the cinema too.

Kinderbuenos · 28/09/2022 14:49

Probably a festive meal, mooch around markets and a panto. Eldest is 14, youngest 10 so not so into the traditional activities now

Devo1818 · 28/09/2022 14:49

We'll do a trip to the garden centre at the end of November too - love their Christmas displays! The kids can pick a new bauble each.

DoubleNit · 28/09/2022 14:51

The panto probably and then free stuff like making decorations with pine cones.

DreamingofItaly2023 · 28/09/2022 15:29

Emailed this morning to book brunch with Santa and waiting for tickets on our local steam train to be released. Other than that it will be the village tree lighting and carol singing and the Christmas Eve church service.

Father Christmas on the 17th
Panto on Boxing Day

I’m waiting to see what event the local National Trusts are doing and we may go there (we’re members) on either the Thursday or Friday before.

And I’ll book ice skating at some point.

EcoCustard · 28/09/2022 21:11

So far have booked the pantomime for Christmas Eve. Will hopefully book Santa visit at a local farm park but they have yet to release tickets. May go ice skating between Christmas & New Year. That’s all this year, cutting back financially and also the kids are always shattered and grumpy by the time we get to Christmas so trying to relax a bit more, will see how it goes.

Lalanbaba · 28/09/2022 21:19

Panto and indoor sledging booked. Will book santa grotto when available.

goldfinchonthelawn · 28/09/2022 21:30

DC are adults, so we are booking a theatre trip, dinner at a favourite restaurant and maybe cocktails somewhere. We'll go to some carol services too.

bluechameleon · 28/09/2022 21:40

I've just booked a local NT house for the light trail, and PIL have booked the panto. Still got to book breakfast with Father Christmas at a local garden centre. That'll be it for paid things.

MiauzenKatzenjammer · 29/09/2022 04:07

Does booking an Ocado delivery on Christmas Eve count?

autienotnaughty · 29/09/2022 05:54

Booked a light trail and a Santa visit. That's cost around £100 so won't be booking any more!!

FilthyforFirth · 29/09/2022 06:08

I love Christmas so am fully booked up! We are doing:
Festive afternoon tea
Visit to Santa
Carols at RAH
Light trail

I have spent a small fortune but it is my fave time of year and my eldest loves it too!
