What sort of Christmas things can I do with a 13 year old? Too old for Santa but too young to totally do her own thing? We love doing things as a family but what can we do?

Ice skating, Christmas Eve walk with hot chocolate, family baking, shoe box making of presents for charities, volunteering.

Dd is 13. This year we are going to Edinburgh Xmas Market so while we are there we will go Ice skating, Edinburgh dungeon, them horrible scary rides at the market and shopping.
She will probably go Xmas shopping with friends or ice skating with friends at some point too.

I guess it depends what she’s interested in but I would suggest…
Light trails
Christmas markets
Christmas movie nights
wreath making
ice skating
festive baking

hope that helps!

Theatre. Tubing. Shopping and lunch

Teach her how to make mince pies

Get her to write all the family Christmas cards and help you plan the Christmas dinner menu

Take her to midnight Carol service at church

We are doing a light trail, and last year found a Christmas themed escape room which was fun. Will do again if I can find a different one. Lots of baking too, and help with decor. Tubing is a good call!

Suppose it depends on her personality & what she's into.

DD is around the same age and she hated ice skating last year, she's not sporty at all and it just wasn't for her.
She enjoyed the Christmas market for an hour but then got bored and cold so we ended up in normal high street shops.
She loved a light trail we went to where she could take a million selfies.
She loves to shop so I involved her much more in buying everyone else's Xmas presents, both online and a few late night shopping trips.

I think she enjoyed staying in more tbh last Xmas, we used to have lots of Xmas movie nights with hot chocolate and snacks, bought fleece Xmas blankets and pyjamas.
We also lit the firepit & made s'mores on the rare weekends it didn't rain.
