Does anyone know this craft kit that my DD(10) would like?

Wondering if anyone can help. My 10yo daughter has mentioned a kit she's seen that is basically gems and sequins and other bits that she can use to stick on and customise clothing and bags etc.

I've tried googling and looking on amazon but it's bringing up chunky craft gems rather than ones for clothing/fashion which I assume would be better at withstanding washing! This was a specific kit but I can't recall the brand. I thought it might be something like Cool Maker or similar.

If anyone know what this kit is I would be very grateful!

Try searching for Blingbox on Amazon? It’s not specifically for children though.

I don’t know the one you are looking for, but when my DD was into that, we used to find a lot of stuff at The Range in their craft section.

Oh I saw one of those when I was looking for a diamond/crystal painting kit. I can't remember the name though!

Could it be this one? Bedazzler Kit Rhinestone Gem Gemstone Applicator Stud Setter Setting Tool Embed Jewels In Clothes Dress Decoration Includes 70 Assorted Rhine Stones Sparkle Kids Child amzn.eu/d/3flaxYV

Is it a blinger? It’s basically a tool for adding jewels to clothes, accessories and even hair

CoffeeChocolateWine · 18/09/2022 20:25

I think it was the Blinger she was after, but it looks like there are some alternatives to take a look at too. Thanks for your help all!

I've got some for my dds before from the works.

Forestdweller11 · 18/09/2022 20:30

A bedazzled is the greatest invention known to man. You need the older type though

Bottomofthepileasusual · 18/09/2022 22:14

Our local market has a stall that sells sequins & beads etc. if you've got one locally try there for bits for her

ChristmasLightsAndSparkles · 19/09/2022 22:05

What do you mean by the older type of bedazzler @Forestdweller11?

Is there a specific kind which is best to get?

There are quite a few on Amazon, but they look quite similar so would be good to get a recommendation.

Also, are they damaging on hair?

DD has seen them and was keen, but I wasn't sure how it works..

Forestdweller11 · 19/09/2022 23:27

The older beddazlers look more like a stapler and are a bit sturdier. You can't really use them on hair. They are basically metal claw settings with a 'jewel' set in that when hammered down into fabric against a metal plate they curve over and secure.

There are hair jewelers but have had a couple and find them a bit naff. You might as well get a bag of mini jewels of eBay and some eyelash glue and attach them into hair that way.

AverageDuck · 20/09/2022 12:10

Please don't get a blinger, my daughter had one and it was absolute rubbish, she was so disappointed. It's just gem stickers, which aren't very sticky and an over complicated plastic gadget to press them on with which was useless.

CoffeeChocolateWine · 20/09/2022 14:27

Yes, I am struggling with the fact that it looks completely naff. And she doesn't want to put gems in her hair, she wants to embellish her clothes and bags etc. If anyone has recommendations for something decent that would be great!

The bedazzler original one sounds good but if there's a newer one now I'm a bit concerned about having difficulty getting hold of replacement studs?
