Hi all, my little ones first Christmas is approaching! ...but - his first birthday is also only 2 weeks after Christmas!

I need ideas on what to get him for both, so I'm wondering if anybody can tell me what they got their little one/s for their first Christmas and first birthday! (List it if you can 🤣)
Thanks in advance!

My 3 year old's birthday is just after Xmas too. Across that first Xmas and birthday, the things he still plays with at least every other day are duplo and a plastic Thomas train set, nice big chunky track pieces with talking trains.

My 7 month old has her birthday a week after ds, also in January. I'm planning a Grimms type rainbow from santa, and then mainly little bits like clothes, a jellycat, a little wooden frog with wheels, and some long ago removed baby toys recycled from ds. Our home is overflowing with toys and books though, there is absolutely nothing she needs.

First Christmas at 9 months I got a pop up tunnel, a ball and some wooden animals. Then first birthday he got a scuttlebug and a rucksack for nursery.

My DS will be 1 in October so birthday/Christmas close together as well.

For his birthday he’ll be getting a ball pit, soft play foam climbers, duplo animals of the world, squishee soft toy, activity table and a bath toy set. He also has lots of books and a couple of outfits.

For Christmas we’re getting a helper tower/table, a ride on (wheelybug/scuttlebug/didditrike or similar), green toys toolkit, wooden wheelbarrow and veg, mini gardening set with peep inside the garden book. Again there will also be lots of books and a stocking with things like schleich animals, new toothbrush, little teddy etc.

Love these ideas so so much thank you!!! Definitely going to get my little one a ball pit, he loves the one at sensory class x

Copying another friend, we got them a bauble & they've been able to choose one every year since. They go on our tree at the moment but we have a list for each child & they will be able to take their set with them when they leave home

My little boy turned one a few weeks ago and from the things he got he's most enjoyed his laugh and learn chair, baby doll and little activity cube. Other things that he enjoys playing with at the moment are his little tikes activity garden, activity table, balls, linking rings and his treasure baskets (kitchen and bathroom items). I'm planning on getting him a playhouse kitchen for Christmas as he's always going to them at stay and play.

DD2 is 1 at new year. We still have all DD1’s baby toys so she really doesn’t need anything. We’ve bought her a play kitchen which she’ll possibly be a bit small for initially but DD1 will play with too, and should last a few years (DD1 was bought one by GPs but it lives at theirs). I’ll get some pots and pans/play food too. Santa is bringing her one of those bath toys that sticks to the side of the bath. We’ve also bought her a wooden advent calendar the same as DD1’s with some of the budget. She’ll get a new outfit, a couple of nice books, (again, we already have loads from
DD1) and a stocking with a stacking toy, rubber duck, nice cutlery set, hat and gloves, socks/vests that I’d be buying anyway, and some chocolate buttons or something. I’m going to suggest to DD1 that she wraps her old happyland things up for her as she’ll want to give her a gift too.

For her birthday she’s getting a rag doll, toddler sized dolls pram, another few books and another outfit.

No idea what relatives will buy, but I have suggested if they are stuck money for her bank account or experiences for either Christmas or birthday as we are short on space.

I think 1yo was when we started collecting the toot toot safari set. It's good as you get add on sets so saw us through a few birthdays.
