I don't really know what I'm after as they don't like to read 😂😂 I was hoping to get them a magazine but they are 10 and 12 so quite awkward ages.

Thanks.

My 12yo DS enjoys The Phoenix, and my 13yo goddaughter likes Aquila. Both have done so for at least a couple of years.

Thanks. When I was a little older than my eldest I read More, Bliss, Mizz, Just 17.

I've found a magazine called J14 but it's American and £8!!!

Smash Hits, Big, Live and Kicking, Top of the Pips would have been perfect. I don't think they even like any singers to be honest.

Do book club subscriptions count? There are so many of them and you can find something that'll be age appropriate and would probably get them into reading- www.penguin.co.uk/articles/childrens-article/best-book-subscription-boxes-childrens
If they don't like reading but enjoy the subscription format in general, you can try subscription snack boxes. There are lots of options and every month they'll be getting something new. Or think of fun software subscription. Something like a slideshow video maker or programs like Photoshop like in this list, etc.

Do they have consoles? You could get them their Monthly subscription for that?

If they don't like to read then it seems a little pointless to get them magazines.

Your posts are a little confusing you say that top of the pops etc would be perfect but then in the next sentence that you don't think they like any singers.

I would ask yourself if they are really going to get anything out of it if you get them a magazine. No point spending the money on a subscription that is just going to sit unread in their room.

Maybe look at sweet subscriptions or just get them something tailored to their interests

What are they in to? We might be able to make better suggestions with some more info

DS2 isn't a big reader but The Phoenix is an exception.

psuedocream3 · 14/09/2022 15:20

minecraft magazine if they like gaming?

vroom321 · 14/09/2022 23:12

The only thing they are interested in is Roblox. I think I'm thinking about what I would have liked at their age. Times have changed.

Can you pay for swimming/ dance lessons instead or an annual membership of a local trampoline park or similar?

My DS is very specific in what he likes to read but he also loves Bunny vs Monkey and Looshkin from The Phoenix.
My DD has a Junior Baking Club subscription from Baked In.
I am pretty sure both of mine (8 and 10) would also like any bath bomb/bubble bath/bath fizzer subscription (might get them to wash more often too).
