Looking for inspo for DP's Christmas presents, he's one of the men that have everything which isn't helpful Grin what are you planning to buy the men in your life?

I have resolved to only buy gifts people will definitely use. So I generally go to F&M or Libertys and buy fancy tea, coffee, biscuits, jam, sauces, chocolate, handwash, soap etc. Basically fancy everyday items.

LunaCrystal · 12/09/2022 19:01

His fav aftershave, a wallet from the kids and his Football Teams new top

Also maybe a Lego kit if possible, last year was Thanos glove so will be looking for a good deal

summergone · 12/09/2022 19:08

I hate buying for men ! Women are so much easier !

Useful things go down the best.
An Oodie was a big hit last year.
Two years ago I wrapped up a pack of spray screen cleaner and an e cloth, £5 from B&M for his stocking and he has constantly remarked how good and useful it has been. He’s getting another this year and I know he’ll be pleased!
I’ve bought a pair of black turtle dove gloves for him this year as his office is cold.
He generally gets nice chocolate nuts, beer, different flavour ciders and a bag of mixed Lindt balls from www.chocolateemporium.com
He doesn’t want anything, so it’s just a few things to open in front of DS.

DH has a birthday coming up too so need to plan both! I was originally looking into getting him a new coffee machine, but he punctured his SUP board on holiday this summer and it's not repairable so I think he just wants a replacement new one. Makes it nice and easy for me as he'll chose it! Will probably get the Richard Osman book too. Will keep following this thread for more ideas!

mam0918 · 12/09/2022 19:39

Im planning to get:
Wireless phone charging mouse mat (bought)
Trainers (waiting for sale)
Tickets to a show (not release yet)

mam0918 · 12/09/2022 19:40

He will also gets sweets, cheese and hot sauce etc... in his stocking.

Devo1818 · 12/09/2022 19:41

A head shaver - one of those ones that have all the circles on, really easy to do yourself. Not explaining it well.

Optimus Prime Lego set if I can fine one cheap enough.

Some books, maybe a nice bottle of booze.

A fire pit, magazine subscription and craft beer.

I’m not tech minded and can’t attach website 😔

Iamclearlyamug · 12/09/2022 19:57

I'm considering personalised plates for my OHs car, he'd really like a gaming vest but I'd sooner die than give him any further encouragement on that bloody PC 😂

Cuwins · 12/09/2022 20:11

My partner will give me a list of things he would like and I will choose a DVD or game off that. Plus I have already got him Danger mouse pjs (he loved it as a kid!) and the craft gin club box from the bargain thread. Other than some chocolate from the baby that will be it as we don't have big budgets.
My dad-no idea, he is very difficult to buy for, something edible certainly but other than that it might be Amazon vouchers

IggyAce · 12/09/2022 20:16

Dh a bottle of his favourite whiskey, dressing gown and aftershave.

Plump82 · 12/09/2022 20:20

My husband's birthday is in December so some of these will be birthday presents but he's getting for either Christmas or his birthday -
Jammies from Chelsea Peers
Coffee machine
Tablet (as in techy thing, not sweet treat!)
Tickets to Jon Richardson
A beaded bracelet thing
Fancy shower gels
Chocolate of some sort

jalu47 · 12/09/2022 20:22

A few things I've bought in past / buying for bday this month plus Xmas - Matching swim shorts for him and our son, a charging station, a cast iron baking thingy for his beloved sourdough, Tony's chocoloney, a few books he wants, gig tickets, t shirts, cooking books, gin, coffee beans, lego (what is it with grown men and lego?!), pictures for his office walls, stuff for his bike - he's quite easy, I always seem to have too many ideas and have to rein in the spending!

Dad on the other hand - I'm useless, he wants/ needs nothing!

YorkshireIndie · 13/09/2022 06:39

DH has brought his own Christmas present. He wanted a new fan for his computer so he has brought it using my card. Makes life so much easier

Stompythedinosaur · 13/09/2022 08:36

I've bought dp theatre tickets (to The Ocean at the End of the Lane as he's a huge Neil Gaiman fan) and am thinking about an Ember mug.

Wackynotion · 13/09/2022 10:35

We're going to be cutting down on the heating this winter, so I'm going to get DP a personalised dressing gown, probably with his initials on the front instead of his name on the back. That's the white one but maybe I should get black instead? I've ordered from that shop in the past and was really pleased with their stuff.
I'm also going to get a new PS4 controller as his current one barely holds any charge.
Hopefully they are both things he will get good use out of!

WeCanBeHappyUnderground · 13/09/2022 10:40

No idea! For his birthday I got theatre tickets, fancy gin, a houseplant and sweets. Last Christmas a nice jumper and gilet, a bit more expensive than he'd have probably bought for himself, and craft beers.

justaladyLOL · 13/09/2022 10:44

Tickets for sports events
Multi gym

GettingStuffed · 14/09/2022 06:28

I'm tempted to buy my DH a tablet so he doesn't steal mine all the time. Other than that I'm stumped .

Sweetener12 · 14/09/2022 10:53

Aftershave, his favorite chocolates, new strap for his camera bag, subscription to a Clipify video editor as his current is going to expire in November and he'd been complaining about it anyway, custom desk calendar with his favorite hockey team games scheduled.

Dillidilly · 14/09/2022 17:23

A Leatherman multi-tool for DH. His initials engraved on the side and I'm going with the brown leather pouch.
Young adult DS: a really nice hardback copy of Lord of the Rings, so he has something to actually open as well as a computer game.
