I think I’m going to get mine some dr martens boots.

Itiswinteralready · 10/09/2022 09:26

I think probably a proper archery set, then some books.

Just realised I didn't read the title properly and you said dd! Sorry! Some of those still would be suitable...

Stocking ideas -

Nail varnish, lush, toiletries, nice face cream, lipgloss, keyring, purse, bag.

Clothes (always think it's best they choose), nice pjs, trainers, day out somewhere/experience.

DD who will turn 13 just before Christmas has expressed a desire for: a galaxy lamp projector thing, the big Ikea bear and a Pandora jewelry box (because it's rose gold rather than her having Pandora things particularly) she likes squishmallows too.

She'll get some sheet masks/ toiletries, Costa gift card type things in her stocking

Dd 12 is getting (across bday/Xmas) Florence by mills make up/skincare, Victoria's Secret shimmer mist, Heartstopper book 2, then big gift is Nike air Jordan's, Six tickets and for birthday in place of a party going to Stranger Things experience.

I'm going to try for some experiences - so far maybe sushi making, possibly some kind of animal experience (she loves animals but has done quite a few before) but not 100% yet.

I started another thread the other day on the Christmas board about ideas for experiences and there are some great ideas on it (it is probably a bit further down now).

My dd (13) has lots of stuff and doesn't really need anything but will do a stocking with bits and pieces, beauty, hair stuff, probably a silk pillowcase, Guinness Book of Records, a wall calendar. No doubt she will also get a pile of books too.

Last year I did some little boxes/hampers so one was all beauty themed, one stationery.

Does your child have hobbies? We have bought things in the past to do with hobbies/interests but given a full size cello/case/bow (around £3k) is needed now I'm not sure I'm going to be giving her that!! ShockGrin

One year, I bought her a really nice diary & I added things/experiences for her to do over the year. Some were really small like a voucher for a milkshake place, a Costa card etc but others were vouchers for a clothes shop & then a ticket to see something she liked at the theatre. I also included homemade vouchers for places to visit that she liked (family picnic & ice cream parlour, in the summer). She loved opening it and reading through each thing that I had tucked into the diary in a coloured envelope. It made her feel like she was opening lots of presents & they were things that would span the year.

Mine is having GHDs and some fancy skin care.
i love the diary idea-i might borrow that

I find dd so easy to buy for. She’ll be 12.5 at Christmas and I’ve got her:

A record Player
Nike pro leggings
Clothes from Hollister

Stocking ideas I have for her:
hair products for wavy hair (not cheap)
stationery (apparently she needs pastel highlighters not normal ones Hmm )
airpod case
things from the body shop
pringles
toblerone
scratch card
earrings
faux pearl necklace
books
silk pillowcase
