Whatever he wants within reason?

declutteringmymind · 09/09/2022 12:46

Mine would like a VR headset. He doesn't have a console but I need to research it all before we contribute towards one.

UnbalancingAct · 09/09/2022 13:06

He hasn't asked for anything recently!

Swiss army penknife is the only idea so far. Mine has a December birthday too!

Cantthinkofausername01 · 09/09/2022 13:53

Im in the same position as you, my son will be 13 a week after christmas, when I ask him what he wants "he doesn't know". Although he has said he wants an iphone 13 for his 13th birthday so thats sorted at least!

Mummum25 · 09/09/2022 13:57

My son has asked for a laptop. He needs one for school so I guess will be a win win for us 😂

Naimee87 · 09/09/2022 14:01

Cash/PS4 gift card, a hopefully ‘cool’ helmut/knee&elbow pad set for his many many many sets of wheels he has. And i found a toy sweets vending machine a mini one. He has been gooogling them non-stop! 😂 13 on Monday!

We’ve got his 14th birthday coming up before Christmas. The main thing he’s asked for for both is cash to build his own gaming PC. Other things I have on the ideas list are:
Fifa 23
Annual pass for local theme park
Smart LED lights (to work with his Alexa)
Mystery football shirt
Dumbbells
Tracksuit maybe
Trainers/football boots maybe
Tickets for Stranger Things experience (anyone know if this is worth it?)
Cross-body bag for phone and wallet
Sweet hamper

He got wireless earbuds last Christmas which he still uses all the time.

Mines only 11 but this year I'm thinking Play station points and potentially a refurbished laptop that he could do with for school, sweets, some pyjamas.

mamatoTails · 09/09/2022 14:23

Managed to finally get a PS5 so that his Xmas present sorted.

Will get a few small things for a stocking like deodorant, small aftershave, boxers & chocolate.

AlwaysLatte · 09/09/2022 14:25

Last year we bought our 13 year old an Oculus Quest. This year he's (at the moment) talking about basketball shoes, a basketball jersey, a good fragrance and a few other smaller things.

Stranger Things experience - dd's a big fan and been asking to go, planning on it at half term with a couple of friends. One of her school friends went in the holidays and said it was good, but she went with her parents (they're massive fans too!) and she said that going with a few friends would've been a lot better. I think where it's an experience so being in a group is more like the show and "living it" with friends (especially where they're teens!

UnbalancingAct · 09/09/2022 15:22

He has a kids Swiss Army knife, but an upgrade might be possible. Although he is quite clumsy...
I've no idea what stranger things is, will have to take a look. He's totally uninterested in clothes, but I may have to resort to that. Or upgrade his bedroom somehow. He still has his kids bedding and rocket light that he won't let me get rid of!

Weights, an upgrade to his PC or a new guitar are all possibilities in our house.

MissyB1 · 09/09/2022 15:44

Ds will turn 14 on 23rd December!! He’s footie mad (well sport mad really), so thinking

Man U kit
hoodie for local Rugby club
New Goalie gloves
Fifa 23 for his switch
New football

He would love that stranger things experience though, that might be a birthday treat with his friends.

CoffeeChocolateWine · 09/09/2022 15:47

@Ivyy that’s a really good point and I wouldn’t have thought of that. My DH and I both love Stranger Things too and we love watching it with DS so thought it would be a good thing for us to do together, but I can see how doing it with friends would be a better experience for him. His birthday is November so I could maybe look into it as a birthday ‘party’ thing with a few of his good friends instead. Thanks.

CoffeeChocolateWine · 09/09/2022 15:48

…and do it separately for me and DH, obviously!
