Golfers - advice re balls and tees please

This is a birthday one but thought I'd get more responses here. Asked my nephew what he'd like for his bd and he said he needed golf balls and tees. We're not golfers so I don't know what would be considered 'good' balls/tees. I suppose I could ask him if he has any preferences (and if that is the advice golfers would give, then fair enough!)

Would appreciate advice if you are a golfer - or if you live with a golfer you could ask please?

Is there anything else I can add that is golf themed but not tacky? Not a glove, he bought one recently.

Thank you

I bought these for my golf obsessed husband and he was very pleased.

What’s your budget?

If he is a member of a club ask the pro

Pro V1’s definitely for balls , a nice waterproof golf jacket now that the weather is getting bad? CK do nice ones

Tees - don't need to be anything special, just a bag from any pro shop will do

Balls - depends how he plays. I like pro v1 / pro v1x from titleist, or Taylormade tp5.

Non tacky gift - I have a few golf towels with my initials on which are really nice and a lovely leather scorecard holder with my initials on too. Practical and nice gifts!

How long has he been playing/how good is he?

Golf balls can be very expensive and most players don't benefit from having the big name balls. Have a budget and get a box that fits that as they will end up at the bottom of a river or lost in trees! A nice personalised towel or a cap are a good choice

DH likes the balls recommended above - neon ones good if they are likely to end up in the rough, especially shrubbery/bushes (ahem - definitely not me when I play).

DH has little hand warmers which are air activated (take them out of the wrapper and shake them about and they heat up). I use them for long walks and they are great. He also has some stunningly unattractive packable waterproof trousers and some SealSkinz waterproof socks - not a particularly fun gift, but makes a big difference during the winter.

Thank you all, much appreciated
