Stocking fillers for 5 year olds and 1 year olds

ActonBell · 04/09/2022 19:23

I have stockings to do for 2 5 year olds (both boys) and 2 1 year olds (boy and a girl).

Last year for the 4 year olds (as they were), I did:
Chocolate coins
bath bomb
mini Lego kit for one and a roll of play tickets for the other
mini kaleidoscope
kids joke book
coin purse
crayons
spinning top
junior uno
yoto card

Going to stick with some of those but also looking for new ideas especially if they are mega bargains. Things are tight this year.

Babies got teethers, bibs, moisturiser, bath books etc. last year so there definitely need to be some changes this year.

I’m not against second hand if condition is okay.

Can I get some inspiration/links from anyone doing similar ages?

Thanks!

My DS is nearly 3. Over the past couple of Christmases (at 14 months and 2.2) he got:

  • bath crayons
  • toy cars
  • flashing ball
  • little soft toys (he loves Bing and they have the small toys for about £6 in Asda)
  • pocket library
  • chocolate buttons
  • kiddilicious gingerbread men

Last year one of his main presents was a doll so we put the bottle etc in the stocking

WishingWell5 · 04/09/2022 20:49

Mine are the same ages so placemarking!

For the 5 year old a giant chocolate coin and also a magazine to look at whilst waiting to open main presents. I might get dobble card game too. Maybe a slinky.

For the 1 year old.. a book or two as she's obsessed ... beyond that I've not decided yet!

Ohh I want to get my daughter one of those tins with animal sounds she would love it. Can't think what to search on Amazon though?

Now is a great time to buy stocking fillers. Supermarkets will be full of reduced stationery and often hair clips and those kind of accessories. For the toddler I would pop into a few charity shops and see what you find. Wilko is another good place, lots of crafts and pocket money toys.

Cuwins · 05/09/2022 21:13

@OnlyFoolsnMothers thanks

Stompythedinosaur · 05/09/2022 21:46

For the 1yo, I used to get bath toys (bath crayons were always a hit), musical instruments (egg shaker, hand bells etc), maybe a small pack of happyland figures.

At 5 I think my dc liked slime pots, chocolate, a novelty pen (an invisible ink pen was a big hit), those dinosaur eggs that hatch in water, maybe a small lego set.
