Very specific presents...Metal Detector and Holland and Cooper...Help??

Can anyone help with rather specific presents please?

1. Teen DS has been asking for a metal detector for some time now. He's convinced he's going to unearth roman coins in the garden, but I have to say I'm also quite intrigued at taking it to the beach and seeing what turns up.

I've just done a brief search on them, and the info is rather hard to navigate, and they are quite expensive on what might be a one hit wonder.

Can anyone who knows a bit about them suggest a decent but good value one that he could use at home, and out and about? Even better if they are ok to pick up second hand...or are they a bit temperamental and it's best to buy new?

2. Holland and Cooper. Quite nice but over priced (imho) stuff that I need to buy. Would be very grateful if anyone has a discount code they could share, or any knowledge of if they participate in Black Friday/money off deals?

I buy alot of Holland Cooper clothing, they don't do discount codes on their own site and rarely have sales. They've added a couple of bits in their outlet but not much. There are other sites that sell their stuff and may have sales or discounts, worth a look. Or you could try ebay, vinted or depop and search by new with tags. You'll probably be better off buying new with a code on Sandersons or JulesB, they sometimes have 20% off.

Can't help with the metal detector but if they are serious about metal detecting don't buy the cheapest as they aren't great.

I got an Amzdeal lightweight metal detector for DS a couple of years ago, because it was one of the recommended ones here www.thedetectorist.co.uk/kids-metal-detectors/. We've had some fun with it but the Saxon hoard is still out there somewhere 😁Ebay might be worth a look too.
