This Christmas I have decided to give tickets and gift vouchers as main presents for my boys. They are used to getting a decent looking pile of gifts under the tree (Lego's and board games come in big boxes) and I don't want them to feel deflated by an envelope, especially when the actual cost will be so much more so I'm looking for ideas on how to package it so it's exciting.

How old are they?

a big box with a helium balloon inside and the ticket attached to the string (appreciate that we shouldn't use helium now for eco reasons)

Treasure hunt

Themed bauble on the tree

Small related items wrapped with the ticket.

Gift boxes like these.

I once got the giant crisp boxs from Aldi, wrapped it and filled it with tissue paper with little gifts in it. My DCs were young though and had a great time hunting.

Like the idea of a balloon with tickets attached, could try and find a themed balloon to go with the tickets! Maybe a football one for footie tickets and a Charlie and a chocolate factory one for the musical.

Was thinking of some activity tickets and those boxes could work well with that with a useful item inside the top two boxes with a clue and the tickets in the bottom.

I knew posting on here would help, thank you!

When we surprised the DC with a Disney trip I actually redecorated the Xmas tree overnight with Disney decorations and foil Mickey and Minnie balloons Blush. Stockings (opened upstairs) were stuffed with related bits and bobs. I was definitely more excited than they were 😂

Inside a balloon.
Inside hollow chocolate that they have to smash open to reveal inside.
Inside a scrap book/photo album.
Hamper of treats for the journey with tickets included.
Inside a cracker.

I bought a Money Box Maze last year but didn't actually get round to using it because we transferred cash to DS not notes ( DS is 22 and doesn't mind)
Usually I give him a card that says "Look in your bank account"

A couple of years I bought books ( Santa Wants Your Help DS Name ) and a Ladybird ( Zombie Apocylypse ) with notes fastened inside with snazzy paperclips (penguin shaped)
