Ideas for December born toddlers

Hah, why did i get pregnant around Easter??

Dtwins will be 3 mid Dec. They also have a 7 yo brother so live inside a toy mountain.

I could easily spend a small fortune on eldest - books, toys, bike, outings etc. But poor second borns get the hand me downs so they need 1 bike, so does eldest. They don't need clothes. They dont really need toys. We have a small garden. Theres two of them so its harder to do activities.

Any ideas???

Do they like arts and crafts? You could get supplies, paints, coloured paper, glues, googly eyes, playdough etc and set up an art station or something.

Age appropriate remote control cars?

SleepingStandingUp · 16/08/2022 13:46

One does, one less so, both attention spans of... toddlers 😂. I could def top up the craft supplies but it's something that tends to be fairly well topped us as we go cos of school projects etc.

Sturdy remote control cars that'll go on grass would be good. We don't have much paved spaces.

I think they need bikes, dh reckons to young.

Got slide and trampoline for garden.

Do they do swimming lessons yet, I saw some gorgeous unicorn swimming goggles that I might get my DD (if you have girls obviously, but I bet they do dinosaur or something too), you could team it with a personalised swim bag and character towel.

Other ideas:
Voucher for a trip to build a Bear
Brio (and other brands) - you can never have too much track
Personalised picture book
Light up trainers - big hit in my house and something I wouldn't usually buy
New jigsaws (you could charity shop old ones if you have loads already - or sell on Facebook marketplace)
Projector torches - we have a dinosaur one and baby animals one, both are loved and used often
Sticker books are big hits hear - lots of character ones about
Easel if you don't already have one
Wendy house
Didicar
Bucket stilts - we have some green monster feet ones
Dressing up outfits
Disco light
Yoto player or tonies box
Start a schleich animal collection

If they're too young for bikes what about balance bikes (no pedals). Those are great.

SleepingStandingUp · 17/08/2022 23:26

We have one of those scuttle bugs, is that basically a balance bike??

Lots of lovely ideas thank you Caterpillar. Is a Wendy house just a dolls house?

A Wendy house is an outdoor playhouse.

My dds loved their doll house from around 18 months -2 as well though :)

Mud kitchen is another option. Ours is well loved too

Do they have scooters?

Can I ask what you're doing for a party? (If anything!).

DD will be three on New Year's Eve, and I can't imagine many people will be up for a toddler party then.

No, a scuttlebug has two legs at the back for balance, it’s not the same as a balance bike.

We're not. They're not in nursery until Jan so only people we'd invite is family or elder sons friends and their younger subs. Sister is having family party for her son same weekend so feels a bit much. The year after when they have friends we'll prob look at a hall with bouncy castle type of thing for the weekend before school breaks with lots of notice

I'll look at balance bikes. No scooters either, DS had one and never got on with it at that age so I was wary.

No room for Wendy house. Or dolls house. DS had a dolls house but never got played with the way he did at play group!!
