Hi all, reposted here as no response in style and beauty - bit out of touch and just wondered what's currently in fashion clothing and beauty wise for t/weens. Thinking ahead for birthday and Christmas for dd who will be starting secondary school in September. I know she is keen to start shaving so was considering the ffs shaving kit. Also looking at Nike pro leggings as every teen seemed to be wearing them when I was in town centre the other day. Any advice appreciated. Thanks in advance

Dd is 12 in October and will be getting things like Nike pro leggings, stationery, wireless headphones, apple pen (to go with the iPad her grandparents are getting her) pro create app, tickets for Six, a trip to a waterpark, paper for instax camera, scrap book stuff, accessorise jewellery, new purse, gymnastics stuff, various bubble gum, clothes from new look, Zara and mango

thats across birthday and Christmas

DD is 11 and getting her first iPhone 🤦🏻‍♀️.
She already has a lot of sports clothes for her hobby but normally add a few pieces at Christmas to pad it out.

Popular gifts have been instex camera, fun film for it, anything from Zara, Zara perfume, Lush, theatre tickets, scrunchies, stationary, light up mirror etc

Thanks for your ideas. Thinking a more grown up looking purse would be a good one as hers in looking quite babyish now!

I agree with many of these, just wanted to add LED strip lights, govee ones are good, I think I paid around £6 on an offer on Amazon but they were her favourite present and I was impressed too and they are no more expensive to run than a lightbulb.

This year she has asked for an air.up bottle (you breathe in scent through the nose instead of adding flavour to the water), a boba tea kit, vouchers for new look, driving lesson experience, manicure pillow, lava lamp, books, one of those tiny retro mini fridges, oodie, FRIENDS merch and makeup/clothes/accessories.

I like the purse idea, that would definitely be a hit for a tween girl!
Maybe gift cards to clothing stores if you are unsure on whether they would like the clothes you plan to get them. Nike pro leggings are a safe choice, though.
Thinking around Christmas, you can make a photo calendar with either family photos or pictures of their favorite artists/shows. Look into Photo calendar maker or Shutterfly for that, you can create really great custom designes in there.
Makeup items are probably a good idea if you look for something that's also more on the skin care side. Skin care products in general always ake good gifts.
Could be something fun, like washable hair sprays that give you crazy bright colors.

My DD loves make up. I know that can be controversial at her age but she spends hours watching you tube tutorials and practicing looks. No ice blue abba esque eyeshadow at the school disco for her.

My DD wouldn't want Nike pro leggings but favours a more grungy look and loves scruffy wide leg jeans, vans / Dr Martens and loves her Qwer tee tshirts (just watch shipping as it can add up).

My DD isn't interested in make up unless it's black nail varnish so Im making her up a skin care box for Christmas and some nice reusable razors and shaving foam (her preference).

She prefers listening to music wearing full headed ear phones (not the expensive air pods that came with her phone) so I'll get her some nice Bluetooth ones of those so she doesn't have to wear the big wired ones she currently wears.

She plays rugby so I'll probably get her something related.

Our Six tickets were rescheduled 3 times due to Covid and then it was finally rescheduled and went ahead on her actual birthday which was great timing but then she got Covid they are playing in our local theatre in May so I'll get her tickets for that.

Oh and of course Oodies are a massive hit, Primark do a great version in the winter, it's much thicker than the Amazon versions but at a fraction of the official Oodie price. DDs one last year was £24 in a gift box with some matching slipper socks. Also comes in handy for the increasing heating bills as they really do keep you warm and tweens don't mind putting them on unlike a normal jumper.
