Best chutney recipes

I have just made crab apple jelly and will make chilli jam in December, and like the idea of making some chutney to go with cold meat and cheeses. Can anyone recommend a recipe- I remember DMum making truly disgusting chutney back in the 70s, so don't want to risk random recipes!

I've been making plum chutney for years. Our neighbour has a plum tree and gives me bucket loads to make jam and chutney. The recipe at the end of the article never fails to produce delicious chutney for all my neighbours!

My favourite is Nigella’s spiced apple chutney. It’s also a good basic recipe you can adapt to what you have.

Does anyone have a chilli jam chutney recipe?

Or a caramelised red onion?

I use this Crab apple jelly recipe but cook for about double the length of time and this chilli jam but use normal granulated sugar rather than golden.

Last year, I also made this Cranberry and clementine jelly and it was delicious. I will be making it again in December.

This chilli jam has been made for the last 4-5 years and is always complimented by people who try it!

I make a gooseberry chutney in the style of mango chutney (so lots of Indian spices) and that's really good with cheddar
