I received my order from fragrancedirect and both my xmas mugs have smashed 😭 the candles are all bubble wrapped but the mugs were loose which isn't surprising they are both broken. Has anyone else encountered the same issue?

Also what yankee candle would people recommend? I'm quite fussy and prefer to smell them first which unfortunately I cannot so hoping you guys can help. Thanks!

What sort of smells do you like? Fresh? Sweet? Fruity? For example my husband loves sweet smells so adores their pain au raisin and snowflake cookies ones. I like fresh or fruity smells so really like vanilla and lavender or vanilla and lime. I also like a lot of their Christmas smells like Letters to Santa.

Wow! I’ve stumbled upon this thread on my night feeds and I’m so excited!

I’ve just started Christmas shopping for my 2 children. Dd (3) and ds (will be 10 months)
I’ve started on stocking fillers because that’s my fav bit.

I’ve browsed the back to school stationary range in b&m & got my dd some twistable crayons (£2), sparkle playdoh (4 pack £2.50)

I’ve just received a jacques london order of some sensory blocks and a little sorting game that uses tweezers. Both in the sale for around £5 each.
It’s a start but more ideas needed.
enjoy shopping everyone!

Have you got paint sticks for your 3yo? Painting without the mess, they’re amazing! I think Little Brian’s is the original brand but there’s lots of other companies making them now.

Also can recommend Orchard Toy games for the 3yo, I’ve bought a lot in charity shops recently. Pairs is always a hit here with both my two (just turned 5 and nearly 2).

We for some lovely glitter-covered colouring pencils from B&M for DD’s party bags which were £2 for a pack of 20 and look very fun!

That's a shame. I ordered the Christmas mug for dds Xmas eve box and I was really pleased with it. It was well wrapped in bubble wrap.

@2under2howscary I got the wax lyrical christmas candles last year and they looked great, lovely boxed gift but I kept one and found there was hardly any fragrance when it was lit, maybe I got a dodgy one but I wasn't impressed

Same here , I had a diffuser and it looked lovely but no scent , threw it out

Asda have yet another sale about to start, the items haven't shown in the sale section yet, found by browsing. I picked up this set half price boxed including toy, only sizes 6-7 up to older teens left, I'm putting it away till easter 2023!

Mrsfussypants1 · 24/07/2022 12:33

Sorry neither link will work. It's rabbit pjs with a toy in a box £7.

Thesearmsofmine · 24/07/2022 12:51

Thanks for the bargains. I’ve just ordered some gravitrax from JL. Our local Sainsburys has loads of games reduced at the moment, some stocking filler ones like Uno and Uno Flip and some bigger games like Beat the Parents.

goingpearshaped · 24/07/2022 13:16

Are the oodie sleep tees too big for a 10 year old and 12 year old please? Love the look of these but they look pretty big.

EverydayIsPJday · 24/07/2022 13:17

This magic sand set (like kinetic) is down to £4.96 from £17.99. includes all the pieces and a tray to play in. I've snapped up two for my boys

super sand play set

Someaddedsugar · 24/07/2022 14:27

Thanks @EverydayIsPJday - just bought one for over the summer!

villamariavintrapp · 24/07/2022 15:24

Thank you @DockOTheBay for the dinkum doll tip. I've ordered cricket for my youngest. Totally unnecessary as we've got loads of dolls/soft toys. But I want one!😬 and that's a great price. (£33 on Babipur)

RainbowPhilosophy · 24/07/2022 15:32

Orchard Toys Magic Maths game on offer at £5 on Amazon. It says good for KS1, ages 5-7.

Amazon link

ThreeRingCircus · 24/07/2022 16:01

Thank you for the Fragrance Direct offer. I've just ordered a load of Yankee candles for presents as pretty much everyone in my extended family likes them. I may keep a couple for myself too!

RainbowPhilosophy · 24/07/2022 16:12

Lego Stuntz motorbike and rider for £3.99 might be good as a stocking filler.

LadySybilRamekin · 24/07/2022 16:39

Nigel Slater's Christmas Chronicles are a good price (£15) on Amazon: www.amazon.co.uk/Christmas-Chronicles-Nigel-Slater/dp/0008260192/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=nigel+slater+christmas+chronicles&qid=1658677023&sprefix=%2Caps%2C132&sr=8-1

Malleus123 · 24/07/2022 16:44

@goingpearshaped the oodie sleep tees are very big, yes....but I would say ok for a 10 and 12 year old tbh, its ghd size that makes them comfy .

goingpearshaped · 24/07/2022 18:21

Thank you @Malleus123 , just waiting for tomorrow's payday then!

Not online, but I was in Accessorize this morning and they had loads of nice jewellery with 70% off - great for teens stocking fillers, rings for £1.50 a set of 2/3 and earrings too, I also picked up a yoga mat in a carry bag reduced to £9 from £30 - bargain except the woman didn’t take the security tag off and I’m 40miles away from a store!

If it's a plastic tag and metal pin security tag, try pulling it apart but spinning at the same time. The ball bearings inside will eventually loosen the grip and the tag come free. I am not a shoplifter by the way, I used to work in retail management for many years!

PinkDaydreams · 24/07/2022 19:08

Or a really strong magnet. Only other thing is to take it with a receipt into a different high Street store and explain what's happened and show receipt

Sorry but just checking - is the oodie offer on the t shirt the £39 on their own site?
DD loves her oodie and would probably love one.

LadySybilRamekin · 24/07/2022 16:39

It's on eBay for £14.07, so just over a quid cheaper!
