I cut them in half and use them for shopping lists, much sturdier than paper. Also looking at using some of mine as part of toppers for some of next year's home-made cards.

We received well over a hundred cards this year. That's a lot of gift tags...

Keeping mine for my daughter to make her own out of for family next year.

I wondered if it would be acceptable to cut off the fronts and send Christmas postcards next year. DP assures me that this would be entirely unacceptable.

Back to the drawing board.

Put them in for recycling.

I have taken a few with good pictures/toppers to cut out and re-use next year.

id say cut up the fronts and use with sticky things to make your own with plain card next year. recycle the cut off bits.

iv just done this with birthday cards.

xmas cards were made into gift tags!

How old are your kids? Let them cut out shapes and make Xmas decorations, cards, tree chains, whatever next year. If you have some of those shape-punchers or craft scissors, they make good patterns.

We cut pictures out for DD to make cards for school next Christmas. Leftover bits go for recycling, any very special ones get tucked away.

We used to make Christmas decorations with them, cut circles of the pictures out, then fold a triangle inside and stick them together until you got a ball. Everyone used to do it - very old-fashioned now!

My children take the cards to school and the children use them for craft, maybe your childrens school does too.

Ineedaholiday · 07/01/2008 13:43

some Morrisons have a bin to put them in too.

HuwEdwards · 07/01/2008 13:45

Take them into the reception class of your nearest school - they will do 'craft' (v.loose term) with them.

Make GIFT CARDS from them, I just made 25 cards in less than 5 minutes.

Just Chop off the front and then fold it in half, the picture then wraps around the card and you can cut the pictures accordingly to the design. You get about 3-4 per card.

Use a hole punch to make a hole in the corner, You could add some glitter or leave as is.

They Look Fab
