glad you started this thread faggot - I also followed UCM's recipe and my cake was the first one I've made that I have been really pleased with. I am so glad I had the courage to play around with the types of chopped and mixed fruit etc, plus it was a lot more moist than usual.

Made 2: one for MIL and one for my mum. Dh gf was a chef who made wedding cakes!!!. Both sides LOVED this cake.... it was the first I HAD EVER MADE.
