Have been here since 6.20 this morning. Have missed DS opening his pressies and he'll probably be asleep when I get home. DH forgot to take the chicken out of the fridge this morning so it's still a bit frozen. It'll be something from the Chinese tonight for tea and I can't wait to see what delights I'll get from the MIL this year.

Bah Chuffin Humbug!

What on earth is your job? Are you an elf?

Lauriefairycake · 25/12/2007 16:56

Hope you have Christmas tomorrow instead

Merry Christmas xxx

I'm a manufacturing technician and the factory I work in runs all the time. I was meant to be off today but got my shift changed 2 months ago and voila, here I am in scanky overalls, hard hat and safety boots.

I'd rather be an elf as the workwear looks nicer and the boss looks like a kindly old soul.

Laurie, I'm working tomorrow as well, then 2 nightshifts after that. I'm planning to have something resembling Christmas dinner at 11.30am on thursday.

You poor thing, that sucks. Hope you have a nice hot meal waiting for you on your return home, and that you can make up for today, tomorrow.

DH will come away with that old chestnut of 'I thought I'd just wait till you got home to phone for dinner'. The local Chinese will have to feed thousands of people who've had turkey disasters so won't be able to deliver till a week past friday.

I think I'll just stick my head in the fridge and inhale anything edible or I might lick the partially defrosted chicken, get the lurgy and spend a week in bed.

hope you're getting well paid!!! Triple time at least.

Why not phone ahead to make sure your dh orders the food in time? Then at least when you get home you can relax and enjoy.

Many blessings to you and yours this Christmas. x
