Nah, it's too late.

Wish they'd make it a bit earlier.

PaperChain · 24/12/2007 21:18

I agree - but there is something kinda magical about seeing in Christmas day, isnt there?

I'd love to go, but its too late. I used to love midnight mass, with the smells and bells, as a magical way of starting Christmas Day.

We took the DCs to a Christingle Mass this evening instead, which was lovely as their friends were there too.

AMerryScot · 24/12/2007 21:24

We are going. We left the older ones to babysit for the first time last year. Our vicar doesn't like late nights, so we have it at 11pm, finishing just after midnight.

We've already been at the Crib service this afternoon, and are leading prayers tomorrow morning!

does anyone go and take the dc? i am taking ds (18 months today) - he should sleep through it though.

PaperChain · 24/12/2007 21:27

I missed the crib/christingle services this year

re taking 18 month old ds - of course!!

I used to love midnight mass when I was a teenager.

I offered it as an option to my dc tonight as they are maybe old enough to make it. They said no thanks, but maybe one year they will creep out and find out what it's all about.

May go if everyone is else is asleep by then. Our church is just 1 minute away.

ChippolataMinton · 24/12/2007 21:34

No, we went to the family mass this afternoon instead. Happy Christmas everyone

PaperChain · 24/12/2007 21:34

oh if its only a minute away I would defintely go...

milou how old are your dc?

NowTheHollyBearsABero · 24/12/2007 22:19

Really wish I could go, but I'd have to take 3mo ds2 and it's either 45 mins with various trains and undergrounds (is the Berlin English church, I don't like the German MMs so much) or a taxi ride and I don't feel like either. Will go next year when ds2 is presumably old enough to go without a feed for that long.

I am going to light candles and have mulled wine and listen to the one on Radio 4.

wangle99 · 24/12/2007 22:19

Further to my post earlier today DD and I have decided to go this year. Weather is attrocious so not looking forward to that bit.. going to local church (about 10 min drive) rather than Cathedral (30 min drive) which really wanted to go to.

Happy Christmas everyone!

Mincepiedermama · 24/12/2007 22:20

I'd like to but I don't want to go without dh and there's no-one else to babysit this year. {fsad}

foofi · 24/12/2007 22:20

I'm going (on my own). Annoyingly, my mother is demanding I also go with her tomorrow morning, which I was hoping not to bother with!

I enjoyed it too - but it's such a let down coming back to a house of sleeping people! Didn't get many hours' sleep before the screaming and ripping of paper started. It's pretty much all over now! Have a fantastic day everyone.
