I have just given my mother her Christmas present, but it wasn't hers it was MILs.

She opened it and said oh wow that is gorgeous! (I looked over expecting to see the nightie and their she was holding the gorgeous pink jumper that I had got for MIL.

MIL is most of the time a sweet heart although does have her issues sometimes, but my Mother is a real PITA, and I only buy her a token something to ease my guilt as I would truly dearly not want to buy her anything at all. I don't see my Mother from one month to the next and when I do its all to often. I am so cross with myself, think I will have to back to the shops this afternoon and get a replacement.

WHHOOOPPPS!

Shitemum · 24/12/2007 13:43

you'll have to make sure they never meet wearing the same jumper then...!

pinkbubble · 24/12/2007 13:44

Well there won't be much chance of that, as MIL has no time for MOther. And tries to avoid her at all costs!

You probably made your mothers chrsitmas now - you never know, it might go some way to rebuilding your relationship.

pinkbubble · 24/12/2007 14:24

I doubt that very much .

Without being rude to her she is a awful mother, an even worse Grandmother. (well to my DDs anyway, has plenty of time for my brother and his family!)

But it isn't christmas until tomorrow...she's opening her presents already?

pinkbubble · 24/12/2007 17:13

I know! I was in shock too, and to make matters worse she told my DDs they could open their presents from her too! My DDs couldn't believe their luck as I have made them put all their other presents under the tree!

Have just had MIL round and told her what I had done. (felt really bad as I just didn't get time to go back into town this afternoon! But I explained to her and she laughed - BLESS Anyway have told her I would not be offended if she went back to M&S and changed it (Think she has plenty of nighties!) Feel such a donut

Aaah sounds like you have a very lovely MIL

pinkbubble · 24/12/2007 21:01

Most of the time MIL is great! She actually laughed when I told her.
