I'd assemble it, then throw a sheet over, then tie with ribbon/string/tinsel and stick a bow on

dp has to construct dd's pink motorbike today! we won't wrap it as it's enormous, but will cover it with a blanket or something (she's 2.5).

I put together and then stick bows on big things - less to do on the day.

a sheet is a good idea. it's the constructing part i'm afraid of!
