I have a terrible habit of opening my birthday/christmas presents and thinking "ooh that'd be perfect for so-and-so!"

I hardly ever keep presents even when they're perfect for me, I just can't seem to do it!

I can't be the only one...

i keep all my presents that are perfect for me (ther is such a thing as too thrifty), but this xmas my mum is receiving 'new to her' handcream as part of her gift, my god daughter is having gloves that wouldn't have fitted my dd for years and tbh my own kids are getting a lot off ebay/ school fair toy stall which is another way really! i can't abide waste and my ds1 gets many presents inappropriate for him and they are brill for party gifts - am i tight? probably!

One of my very close friends - and she may recognise herself on here, if so: cow! - gave me back the exact same expensive Origins gift set that I had given her not 6 months before for her birthday. And no, I don't just mean we share excellent taste, I think it was the actual one... I accepted without batting an eyelid of course as I am well brought up. Tight cow. Or maybe just sleep deprived and deranged.

I'm tighter than a fishes arse in some respects, but generous in others. I can't keep gifts for myself but tight on buying new things when I have perfectly good presents bought for me lying around!

I was given the most beautiful butterfly shaped bejewelled jewellery box from monsoon tonight, I just love it- but my house is a tip and I'd probably never use it, and my sister would love it too. Dilemma!

i do keep stuff that is perfect for me, or is from someone special.
so *re-gifters" is what we are then?? i always wondered what we were called, i just call myself tight economical

i can't use perfumed stuff, and anyone who knows me well wouldn't but me any, but i have a good friend who loves it...... say no more

well maybe it's insulting in spirit, but if they don't know (i am very careful - i usually wait months ) it's not actually insulting them in person iyswim!. origins gift set though -i've been using every single product from the one i received in july. what i find really embarassing is people seeing gifts they've given me around my house completely unused - out of sight out of mind.
