What are you meant to give carol singers? Just had my first ever!

Although they really should of been in bed. Its late and they are young. Anyhow, what do you give to carol singers? And are they supposed to dress up? Never had any before. It's freezing out they must be mad

Money for the charity they are collecting for! If they aren't.. or say they are and can't prove it, send the, away with a flea in their ear!

Those collecting for themselves are usually aged between 12 - 16 and give you half a verse of "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" before faltering..

Proper carol singers are usually a large group, all ages, both sexes and they sing BEFORE they knock

They were 13 and about 11 i think. I asked them to come back when my kids were up as it would be a shame for them to miss it.

They want money to buy Red Bull and cider Shakey.. don't give them any! Or pay them in Quality Street (a handful of the ones you don't like)

I second Wino - I've turned away all the teens just begging for coins - not a hope in hell they are getting my well earned dosh!

A group (as in proper) would sing and not knock - or at least not knock until the first verse was over.
