Urgent help needed with Nigella's Ginger Glazed Ham!!!!!

Does it really need 7 litres of ginger ale??????? That's 7 wine bottles worth isn't it. The ham I've got is half the size so do I half it (still seems a lot) and the cooking time????

Thanks in advance

Am guessing it is similar to the coke one - you need enough to boil the ham in and a little bit more of the glaze, so all depends on the size of the pan.

Well the liquid needs to cover the ham in whatever pot or dish you are using (hence the instruction to to up with water if the ginger ale isn't enough). In terms of cooking time if you have a 2kg gammon then I would boil for 2 - 2.5 hours (less if it has a bone in). There is meant to be some osrt of formula (eg 45 mins plus 35 mins per kg) but I can't remember it off the top of my head (waitrose usually prints it on the packaging ).

A 7 litre dish would be pretty huge!

well make the liquid u with ater and bung in some more ginger if you have it. it will be fine as long as (like LM said) it is submerged.
