Any big successes? Mine will be 11, 9 and 7 next christmas and love crafts but nothing too complicated or long. This year home made snowglobes went down well and also honeycomb paper santas from poundland, and painting a few cardboard shapes from hobbycraft.

Mine are 12 and nearly 14 - the highlight the past couple of years has been the gingerbread house from scratch. We've had kits from Home Bargains/Lidl before, too.

I pre-made the dough over October half term, and froze it. Then supervised the girls rolling/cutting and baking before we all stuck it together then they decorated using left over royal icing to stick sweets. You can get cutters for about a fiver for a house set on ebay.

We make paperchains for around the kitchen, and snowflakes for the kitchen windows too...leftover wrapping paper that I pre-cut but they could do it themselves really, I just have the time after work (the stuff with squares on the back makes it easy).

Not quite what you asked, I know, but low prep (apart from the house) & they can walk away/come back to chains and snowflakes when they feel like it :)

Not a craft set but we went into the woods and collected fir, Holly, fir cones, etc and made garlands.

We also walked in the woods for some holly/twigs etc and arranged them in vases when we got back home.

The decorate/colour wooden decorations (from Poundland/Wilko/Hobbycraft have been enjoyed in the past, along with paper chains and snowflakes and pom-poms with white wool to look like snowflakes.

My oldest two DC are 13 and 9 and we enjoyed making a wreath together after buying a kit on Etsy.

My daughter (the 9yo) likes anything crafty so she also enjoyed making candles, spraying and decorating wooden snowflakes, and making some origami decorations. And then it was mainly baking…a gingerbread house, Christmas focaccia art, a pastry Christmas tree, and cakes.
