We have booked a holiday home today - 4 nights across Christmas!

It’s not the first thing I’ve planned this year as I did buy some gifts in the boots sale on Christmas Eve!

So excited!!!

Oohhhhhhh that sounds fabulous. Can I ask what and where you plan to go? Always fancy doing something like this for Xmas

Sorry what meant accommodation type lol

Yes of course @Boboparadise - we have a pet friendly home booked via Airbnb in Yorkshire. We did it this Christmas for 6 of us and loved it so much that we have booked for just 2 of us this year…. It felt like a proper break going away then coming home for a week, we really loved it. We will do a couple of things differently this time, we will travel a day earlier straight after work and won’t eat out on Christmas Day - it was a bit of a let down so will cook in the place instead. Looking forward to getting on the beach Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

We love going away over Christmas. I like to stay near the coast and have walks by the sea. We have pizza for Christmas Lunch. It’s the best.

We did it a few years ago, family visiting from abroad so nobody’s house big enough for 12 of us inc. 2 tinies.
Booked for a week (couldn’t book any less) close to Devon coast, a converted pub with 6 bedrooms.

Worked really well, but we took most of the food esp. for 24th/25th, divvied up who was bringing/cooking what, so meticulous lists were essential - there wouldn’t have been any shops open anywhere near on the day - it was very rural. There was a v nice pub around the corner though!

There was a v nice real tree in the property, but we did take extra decorations.

Do you have children? It sounds lovely but I don’t know how it would do down with DC.
