3 cards written.
20 % of presents wrapped
I've not even displayed any christmas cards (because that means taking my birthday cards down, hell, I've not even put up dd2s 1st birthday cards )
I'm not quite sure that I've bought presents for every one.

It gets to this time every year that I give up and promise to myself that I will be better next year.

I hate the commercial side of Christmas.

Someone give me a kick up the behind.

0% of presents wrapped
Nearly - but not quite - 0% of presents bought

I've displayed my cards, though.

Write a list. What are the most important things you're missing and at which point over the weekend are you going to do it?

OR say stuff it, life's more immportant

how old is dc1? hand them the cards and some blutack, and aske them to display the cards.
presents, .... no idea there. you just have to wrap them up. and write names on. dont worry too much about pretty tags. the kids wont notice.
when you wrap the presents, it will become quite obvious who you havent bought for. if youare not seeing them between now and christmas, dont bother. get them something n the sales. they wont know any different.
cards, well, what is sodding facebook for? or a simple email for? as for elderly relatives? well, you do hav to write those out. maybe get dc to scribble on them? or actually that may be a reall really bad idea.

One of the worst things about Christmas these days is feeling obliged to do things. Don't. No one should be sending cards because they expect to receive one in return. You're a mum, you're busy, they will understand. For your Christmas cards, how about stapling them to a length of ribbon and hanging it on the wall? (obviously you can't get your DCs to do that though).

Cards will not be displayed - I refuse to feel guilty about this.

Why did I say that I'd go in to work tomorrow?

Presents wrapped tomorrow.

Hey, as long as I get to see a little child with a tea towel on their head clutching a toy lamb, I'm not going to care about my other goals.

Kicks much appreciated.

Don't feel guilty about anything. Your life, your Christmas, your decision. It sounds like you are focused on the important things. What a shame more people aren't.
