Decided I wanted a wii for Christmas, of course by this point there were none in stock and I thought no more of it but half heartedly checked a few local argos stores.

Of course just checked and they have some in stock!!! All presents all bought now though hmm do I really need it?

I've never played on one, DD has and said its fantastic

Buy it or not...

They are amazing i really didn't have high hopes when dp came home with it but they are so addictive.
But all that said you don't neeed one.
If you have the money and won't struggle for cash afterwards get one if you don't have the spare cash wait untill they have loads in stock and are on sale

serinsingingcarols · 21/12/2007 19:48

Hmmmmmm

My nephews have one of these and they only ever play with it when we go round or when their schoolfriends visit.

My Dc's would love one but aren't getting one, they have a Playstation and that only gets switched on in the summer holidays/when friends visit.

wangle are you sure Argos have some in stock? Where exactly?

WendyWeber · 21/12/2007 19:54

Here, Mbirds!

Billions of the buggers apparently - well, 6 packages anyway - home delivery within 2 days (it says ) - get in there!

foxinsocks · 21/12/2007 19:54

zavvi in nottingham got some in stock yesterday

PeachyHasAFiggyPudInTheOven · 21/12/2007 20:02

I was dubious but played with ours once (and the boys played NMC's- they know about ours but not allowed until Monday) and theyr eally enjoyed it, best behaviour we've had in ages actually. Liked the interactive side to it- I really can't be doing with consoles as a rule.

5goldrings4MONKEYBIRDs · 21/12/2007 20:21

OMG have just managed to reserve one in my local, that's LOCAL Argos! DS will be utterly made up on Xmas day. Well, for the usual 5 minutes anyway...

...And looking forward to the look on DH's face when I tell him he's off to Argos tomorrow morning at 9 am heh heh heh

Decided to go for it... going to get it later. Lots of people have said its good fun so will give it a go!

Couldn't believe they were in stock when I checked, half heartedly been checking argos not expecting any to come into stock, had a bit of a shock when it said 'in stock'!!!

I think you've done the right thing Wangle I 'tested' the one I bought in October for Xmas and it was somehow out of the box till December when my girls came home - I just couldn't stop playing it in my spare moments. I think it's going to make Christmas really fun, it looks to be the kind of thing everyone of every age can have a good laugh with.

Mine came with Wario Ware - Smooth Moves as well as the sports games (which were great) and I loved it - lots of mini-games lasting no more than a few seconds each involving lots of weird and wonderful activities - at one point I was jumping up to hula-hoop, then putting the controller on my head like an elephant's trunk to pick up apples - even alone I was PMSL and I think even my sobersides DH is going to get a good laugh out of it.

WendyWeber · 22/12/2007 11:11

Oooh, thanks for the heads-up for Smooth Moves, IAF - we just bought a Wii (thanks, bubblerock ) and I was wanting some fun games which even an old woman can enjoy!

I just ordered it from amazon, it won't come until after Christmas but as it's for me I don't care.

PeachyHasAFiggyPudInTheOven · 22/12/2007 12:10

Ah we have smooth moves ready- as well as Wii Boogie and the sports one. tried the tennis, was great fun.

wangle99 · 22/12/2007 12:27

I got it!!! Omg it is so fantastic! DS (4), DD (10) and I played bowling - they both beat me (i'm pooooorly lol) and they were shrieking with laughter! So glad I got it.

Just need to decide on what game I would like to get and get another handset....

They only had 8 in yesterday so I did very well to check when there was one in stock!

WANGLE! THAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANKS!

WE got ours this morning (and no punching in Argos - what's that all about?!) and is now secreted upstairs for DS1's best Xmas ever...

wangle99 · 22/12/2007 13:01

I'm so pleased you got one! I don't post often on here so pleased that one of my posts actually helped someone else! Have a fab Christmas 5G4M

OK, pressie wrapping today but first...

Do I need to do any complicated preparation with the Wii before wrapping it? i've learnt my lesson from Ohsomany Fisher Price toys and complex electronic things that need assembling/batteries/industrial grade clippers and a degree in brain surgery to remove the packaging, that I just want to be a little bit prepared so that DS1 doesn't lose himself with hyperactivity before he gets to have a go...

Please tell me I just get it out of the box, plug it in and.... ?

santaslittlebumper · 23/12/2007 09:13

plug and play

wangle99 · 23/12/2007 16:22

I managed to set ours up myself when I usually leave DH to do stuff like that but it was fairly quick to do - have fun!
