I'm a music teacher and it's so nice to have it acknowledged by parents that, yes music events do take up a lot of free time to organise but so worth it.

I organised our annual carol service (which took place last week) at the junior school where I work. It was all sung and signed
(I work with deaf kids in a unit for hearing impaired attached to a mainstream junior) so not just music but teaching all the sign to 250 kids too.

Kids were fab- sang and signed their little socks off, played brilliantly and behaved impecably but the thing that made it for me was a lovely letter from one of the kid's grandmother's to say thankyou for such a lovely afternoon.

Write a letter to the school to say how much you enjoyed it. It will really make someone's christmas.
