Here is your kick up the bum for next year...don’t do it 😊 This is the first year that stuff was “expected” of me (spending the day in the car travelling to various family etc) and I actually stuck to my guns and said NO ...and guess what - it was bloody great Grin

DH and I both have separated families who all like to see us at Christmas and get offended if we don’t accept their invitation. We both work a lot during December - usually we each only have Christmas Day off during Christmas week and we spend it traipsing from house to house putting in an appearance everywhere that we are expected. We get home in the evening shattered and go to bed for an early wake for work the next day. It’s never been the relaxing day that we wanted (completely our own fault of course!).

Last year we had a 4 week old, DH was abroad with work and I just wrote the day off.

This year they all started bickering as to who got to have my DS for his “first proper Christmas” so I decided that they could all bugger off 🤣 I told them all they were welcome to pop in for an hour anytime between 10am and 2pm if they wanted to visit us but after that we’d be locking the door 🤣

It was great! 🎄 we got our Christmas pjs on and DH and I cooked while DS napped, I had a couple of glasses of Prosecco and we have leftovers in the fridge 👏🏼🤣

That’s the only point of my post really - I wish we’d done it years ago 🙈
