Great, chilled, imperfect Xmas?!

Our day was perfect!

I forgot completely that I got a second joint of meat (reminded when dishing up)!

2 year old had a meltdown as he was so late for his nap waiting for visitors.

BUT....

none of the above mattered. We had a great day, me, dh, ds2 and dd1. So relaxed. No duff presents this year either so after 10 years we are getting better 😂 first time making Xmas Dinner and I nailed it. The whole day really was about the kids having a nice time and they really did.

Just happy :) anyone else?! 😂

Lovely thread OP

We had a great day too. Not in our original plans, was really nice anyway.

Hallelujah!

Our is pretty perfect too.

Me too OP. Really relaxed, the dc wore their Christmas pyjamas and played with their new toys and the whole day was just perfect.

Us too! I'm sorry for all the folks in bad situations. Holidays like this really highlight those struggles all the more, but we are a happy little home here and we had a wonderful day 😊.

Ours was good too. Just me and my teens. Everyone like their presents, the dinner was yummy. We ate earlier than normal and my son crashed between presents and lunch, and I crashed after (he woke at 6am and woke me as he's staying in room next to mine). We ended up watching Polar Express. We never got the crackers open or did a board game, but we can do that today.
No fights, no sulks, good food and relaxed vibe.

Yep. Didn't go overboard on anything...the presents, food, cleaning, visitors etc. But nice bit of excitement for the kids, enough leftovers for today, enough time to chill etc etc.

I remember hosting 3 course dinners for 15 people...never again.

It was simple here, covid cancelled our big bash so it was just me and my daughter (like last year). I spent the morning chatting to friends on the phone. DD got up at lunchtime. We did stockings and presents and then had champagne and nibbles and played board and card games. We did a family zoom call late afternoon and then had dinner which we cooked together at about 7pm. Then tv and films, drinks and patisserie tarts. Lovely.
