Firstly, forgive, as I'm not a seasoned baker..

Attempting this torte, as seems quick and easy and, importantly, impressive Grin Needing advice, as the recipe doesn't mention binding the biscuits with butter, just to crush and line the tin - is that right? If it makes a difference, I'm planning to use biscoffi biscuits rather than amaretti. Thanks

Ooh I've made this lots of times. The biscuits just stick to the chocolate mixture - no need to bind them. It's a thin layer rather than a cheesecake style biscuit base. It's really rich so definitely needs a good serving of cream with it. You've just inspired me to make it again Xmas Smile

Yes that's correct. I haven't made it for years but it's absolutely delicious. And very very rich Xmas Smile

Oh and on the biscuits anything crunchy would work in my opinion. Eventually they all go a bit soft anyway.. :)

It really is as easy as it seems and really delicious!! Enjoy!!

Ooooh I had forgotten about this recipe! I used to make it a lot - it's a great dessert for a lot of people as it's quite rich and a little goes a long way. It keeps well too. I have made it with all sorts of biscuits and I've added ginger to the chocolate mix too which is lovely (if you like ginger!!)

It really is as amazing as it seems. It is worth making with the Amaretti biscuits though, just takes it to another level.

Not a ginger fan, going 'au naturel' to start with Grin
