Will the supermarkets be open on boxing Day? Just want to get some discounted meat for the freezer :)

I know Waitrose is closed, what about Sainsbury's and Tesco?

Tescos are open. Sainsburys are all closed on boxing day.

I’d agree with a pp that late Xmas eve is bargain time. Depends on the store though a lot give to olio rather than reduce.

Most of our local supermarkets now donate the unsold Christmas food after closing on Xmas eve. So maybe best going late Xmas eve.

Some are, some not. Personally I think they should shut. I think Sainsburys usually shut? My local Asda is open but it's only a small one like a convenience store !

Don't forget Olio - free food :) In my area Olio can get a little overwhelmed with food on Christmas Eve so please help us out if you can by scheduling in checking Olio and maybe popping out to pick up a few bits

Was in Tesco a couple of hours ago and loads of meat bargains! (Repeat to self one leg of lamb is plenty you have no room!)

Only our Asda open boxing day around here, it's a big(ish) one too. All of the other retailers in the retail park are giving their staff the day off this year (quite rightly so). M&S and Aldi had reduced their meat early this morning, Asda and sainsburys usually 4pm. Our M&S used to reduce things christmas eve afternoon, but a few years ago at reduction time it turned nasty, real nasty so they've stopped that for the staffs sake.
