Anyone else heading in to January skint?

It’s obviously an expensive time of year and on top of that our car has just failed MOT and we also have DC birthdays at New Year. We won’t starve but we’re already counting the pennies until the end of January.

Christmas is sorted and we don’t have plans other than to see family so it’s mainly fuel costs we need to spend on.

Anyone else feeling the pinch heading in to January and can relate?

Oh God yes.

Yep. Maternity pay doesn't cover much after Christmas has been and gone Confused

Yes, but it's not disaster level skint. We will have a tight month in January and then back to normal by February.

We did save all year for Christmas but even so it seems more expensive for less this year.

Yes! counting down the days until we get paid in January (luckily we get paid earlyish in the month so not too long to wait)

Timeisavirtue · 22/12/2021 23:36

Yep, every year... then wait for the 500 + days in January till my big pay packet 😂

We were saying the same. DH wrapped the presents and it doesn't look a lot.
