We got ours from Riverford but it might be a bit late for post. M&S do lots of veggie / vegan mains too though

Have you tried Aldi or Lidl if you have one near? I'm veggie and we've had some lovely nut roasts from them before.

EventOfTheSeason · 22/12/2021 07:26

Dh is having one from Lidl. He highly recommends it.

This is delicious Grains Nut Roast (Gluten Free Cashew Nut & Cranberry 2 x 200g) [[https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07GWYV596/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_Y2R93YFG9DY0267D9NYW?psc=1&_encoding=UTF8&tag=mumsnetforu03-21 Artisan Grains nut roast]]. I get mine from the local health food store. Holland and Barratt and some big Morrison’s sell them too.

Or else - get a couple of packets of the poshest stuffing mix (cranberry and cashew or something) and some chopped nuts, fresh herbs and maybe vegan cheese and mix it all up and bake. It amounts to much the same thing.

THIS - Amazon sell it, lots of places sell it. Been using it for years, keep a supply in the cupboard. It's better with an egg added but obvs you can't do that for a vegan, but what you can do as it's a dried mix is zhuzh it up with garlic puree or extra herbs or something or even add some chopped mushrooms or tomatoes - whatever she might like. If you serve with a decent vegan sauce or gravy it's really nice.

DH is having a plant kitchen one from M&S. It is butternut squash, pecans and almonds. It looks good. Last year he had M&S own nut roast with cranberries and it was truly excellent.

There is also a nut roast done by a company called 'Clive's. I think it is vegan. It is in the frozen section certainly at Morrisons, That is not bad either.

Otherwise I agree about mixing buts with nice stuffing. I do that alot. I also put chestnuts and dried apricots through it and it tastes perfectly okay.

heldinadream · 22/12/2021 07:35

Whaahay - cross post! So that's endorsed by two of us!

17caterpillars1mouse · 22/12/2021 08:18

We're having the Morrisons best cranberry nutroast. We often have nutroast for Sunday lunch and this one is our favourite. It's around £4 in the freezer section

Twopenny · 22/12/2021 08:27

The 'Artisan' packet mix ones are fine for an everyday dinner, but they're not very special in my opinion. They wouldn't be my first choice for a Christmas dinner. However, most of the pre-made ones I've had from various supermarkets over the years have been delicious.

JuneOsborne · 22/12/2021 08:30

@IcedAbstinente we had that one on Sunday, it was, indeed, delicious. One of the best we've tried.

I've bought the nut roast from every supermarket this year because we're veggie and we love nut roast. The M&S one is the best so far this year!

mnahmnah · 22/12/2021 08:32

I’ve always got one from Morrison’s and it’s been lovely. This year’s is award winning apparently! Sainsburys so nice ones too.

Will it be found in fridge or freezer section ?

I will look at the Amazon ones as will be good to have some in the cupboard too.
