It has sneaked up on me a bit this year. Presents all bought and wrapped etc, but I just don't feel... Christmassy yet

I've just cracked open the ginger wine and now I feel Christmassy.

Harpsi - cards in a pile on the sideboard. Decs still in a box somewhere in the space/time continuum understairs cupboard. Several family christmas cards unposted . Nativity thingie still in the garage.

Yes, I got turkey today too. Very frightened pre-turkey-purchase, very relaxed post-turkey-purchase, as if non-possession of turkey was source of all woe.

I have DS's xmas present.
My tree went up on 1st dec.

Xmas cards havent been written, xmas food shop not done, xmas rpesents for DD and stocking fillers and wrapping paper still to get, erm, have I forgotten anything???

I have done everything . Presents were bought and wrapped 5 weeks ago and food is all sorted. Decs are up and kids break up tomorrow. I do not feel one bit festive though .

I wish I could get pissed and festive. If anyone moans thatstuff isn't done by xmas in this house I'm blaming the lack of alcohol.

I suddenly felt festive on Monday - the first time I heard Fairy Tale of New York on Radio 2 this year.

All presents bought and wrapped by 6th Decemeber, tree and decs up ages ago. Cards all written and gone out. Shopping to be delivered on saturday, turkey and trimmings and puds bought in November and in freezer.
Watched scrooged the other night and going to watch snowman tomorrow to try kick start the christmas feel. Ds broke up from school yesterday and we made ince pies today but the feeling still not there!
Am due to go out on the town Sat night to get drunk and have some festive fun, maybe THEN it will feel like christmas!
