And so I need an adapter or anything?

It’s DH present so I want to have everything for him to at least have a go at one over the holidays but online is just confusing me more.

Depends on the model you have, @RJnomore1:

Thank you; it’s the koda 12 so it takes propane, do you think I could just go to my local Calor gas place? I’m a bit out my depth with this.

No idea....ours takes wood and charcoal. But I just wanted to say...Great present. My DH unwrapped ours at the weekend. He's spent hours researching how best to use it. He also bought lots of accessories....the paddles to get things in and out the oven, heat proof gloves etc etc.. so make sure you have enough bits to go with it, and somewhere to put it to cook as they generate lots of heat.

Our koda just runs off a normal bbq cylinder. The adapter was in the box with the pizza oven. Check the box - there's plenty of information on line.

Mmmmmm love ooni pizza

SaberToothKitten · 21/12/2021 11:53

Patio gas - not little camping stove Calor gas. We had to go to a specialist place in our city for the first (and so far only) cylinder, refills are available more widely but the first one needed to come from some kind of authorised distributor (I have no clue why!)

SaberToothKitten · 21/12/2021 11:54

The camping shop we started with knew the deal, and directed us to the other specialist place, BTW. So do start with your local Calor gaz place. Brilliant ovens - fab pizza :)

Thank you I know there’s info online but I’m struggling to understand it! There’s a proper Calor gas place in my town I’ll pop there for advice. That pizza looks lovely, I’m looking forward to this now😁

Patio gas. We got propane and bought an adapter online for a few quid with a gauge on it.

Jericha · 21/12/2021 14:25

Sorry I meant we bought a huge propane cylinder to share between bbq and Ooni so bought an adaptor to connect it.

I know nothing about pizza ovens, but I would def recommend calling the gas place first. Calor gas cylinders were rarer than hen's teeth over the summer due to steel shortages. You could get a refill if you had an existing cylinder but otherwise no dice as Calor had put a stop on the sale of cylinders. Coleman do mini gas canisters for camping which come in a pack of 6 and we were able to use these for our gas bbq. I don't know if this is an option for a pizza oven but the gas place might be able to advise?
