I’ve told my DD’s we’d do some baking this week for Christmas. I thought about doing some biscuits so they can have some fun decorating them. What else could I do?

We did truffles yesterday, they were easy and fun. Very messy though.

The BBC good food Instagram page has been posting some lovely simple things this week like florentines, and so has Nigella Lawson.

stained glass biscuits
Look impressive, but very easy to do!

Mince pies - frozen pastry and a jar of mincemeat!

Peppermint creams, Rudolph cupcakes, cheese star biscuits, gingerbread men. Not baking, but buy a gingerbread house to assemble/decorate?

Mine love brownies and flapjack, short bread also a hit recently, I have edible glitter which they like too!

Sausage rolls. Nice and easy and can cut out pastry shapes for on top

Santa cookies, they are cranberry & white chocolate cookies, but I only make them in December so they are now Santa cookies in our house. this is the recipe I don’t add the pecans.

Another easy one is rocky road.

bluechameleon · 21/12/2021 07:32

We did mince pies the other day, and because the DC don't like them we did some jam and some lemon curd too. I'm also planning reindeer brownies (idea from Pinterest) and cupcakes. Weusually make make gingerbread house too but I'm not sure if we will have time this year.
If you want to do biscuits, Nigella's cut out biscuits recipe is excellent because they don't spread at all.

We have done or are still to do: mincemeat muffins, mince pies, fudge, Christmas cake and choc chip cookies.

We made this at the weekend - the kids loved it. We left out the cranberry.
