What shops selling nice things deliver tomorrow?

I've had a nightmare of a week and so am even more behind on Christmas shopping that usual!

I need to magic up nice, thoughtful presents for some relatives by tomorrow evening.

Are there any shops open now that'll deliver tomorrow, still?

Any ideas for presents much appreciated too! One for a 40-something, arty, sporty, woman who likes quirky and fun things.

Another for a 70-something woman who doesn't really need/want any more things and has taste too expensive for me and is totally unhelpful when asked what she wants. but does really appreciate presents. (My mum, can you tell?! Grin)

She does like reading - booker prize type literature.

I know I'll probably end up in town tomorrow but hoping for a miracle and that I can find something tonight!

What about something like this?

www.independent.co.uk/extras/indybest/books/best-book-subscription-box-service-gift-uk-review-a8400351.html

It's a book subscription, where books are delivered monthly, so you wouldn't actually need it delivered by tomorrow. I've never used a book subscription, but I like the idea. Plus subscriptions that I have used often email you a voucher type thing that you could print and wrap up.

Amazon?

Tesco do a Whoosh delivery for the same day deliveries

lonsdaleshorts · 17/12/2021 21:46

Next. You can order up to midnight for next day delivery.

I second the book subscription recommendation, I was given one a couple of years ago and I’ve since bought them as gifts. Look for one that does a box of nice bits with the book - fancy tea and chocolate etc to enjoy while reading!

I tried Next but the things I want (Fatface fluffy socks) are saying they won't come till Sunday, same with collection Sad

Whereabouts are you? The Newt does same day delivery to some London postcodes and next day (but with time slots) to lots of Somerset postcodes. Think posh foodie hampers, really nice wine and cider and a selection of nice homeware. shop.thenewtinsomerset.com/delivery

Amazon is your best bet

falalalalalalalallama · 17/12/2021 23:15

South East, but not London. I already filled a basket at Next and it wouldn't come till Sunday.

I've ordered stuff from Next, next day plenty of times before so maybe they're having issues, or maybe it's just that Fatface stock, I dunno.

I do know I ordered a load of stuff from them a few weeks ago, by "next day " delivery but their entire delivery service seemed to fall over and I didn't get it for about a week!

(Lots of other people in the same boat judging by the automated message on their phone system which basically said "yes we know you are all waiting for y our parcels but we don't know when you'll get them so they're no point even speaking to us right now) - so maybe they're still having issues?

Thank you @PeppaPigWorld for that marvellous idea. Just got DH a book subscription for 6 months £85 all in inc delivery. I think he will love it!
