You know what its like trying to do everything in this last week (especially as we have house guests for 2 weeks).......

Every year my Mum gives me a full savings card for Somerfield (one of those ones where you buy the stamps through the year) to buy goodies/drinks etc for Xmas. I never usually shop there myself but its her nearest supermarket.

So there I am in the checkout in Somerfield this morning, woman tells me the total which is 7p over the voucher/card total. I say "thats not bad considering I was adding it up in my head on the way round" as I hand her the card.

She looks at me and says "Yes thats great but this is a Tesco voucher".

I was -what a numpty. Every year its a Somerfield one, this year its Tesco, next year I will check before making presumptions and heading off to the wrong supermarket

ROFL Betty!

When I was working at Waterstones before Xmas one year we had customers coming in to pick up books they had ordered, and if we couldn't find the book it was always worth checking they were sure they had ordered it at Waterstones not Ottakars, because quite a few of them would get muddled up

I took my dd to nursery yesterday morning in the pushchair. Picked her up in the car, then picked DS up from school (in the same place) in the car. Went to put DD n the pushchair this morning and it is not there!

took DS to school- walked round to the nursery entrance and its sitting outside frozen! Wouldnt have been so bad but then had to explain to the majority of parents that I had done it because they were all asking why I was there this morning!!! DD doesnt do Wednesday! doh!!!

I just asked my catholic friend whether the Christmas Eve Midnight Mass was on the day before Christmas!

I, rather distractedly, filled my car up with petrol on Saturday. Drove it several times and couldn't work out why it was so slow on Monday.

(It's a diesel)

what a fantastic idea for a christmas present though, (savers card)

ive just driven to my pals house to put her kids pressies into her porch, got there and ....have left the presents in my hall way.

this morning i walked meaningfully up the road from school...towards my car that wasnt there because about 5 mins before i had parked it around the corner.

i have to keep looking in my diary to check when i am working this week because i keep having a panic attack that i should be at work now or today and so have to check about 5 times a day because i jst cant retain the information.

I tried to pay for a weeks worth of school dinners at the office, school finishes today, I'd forgotten

BettySpaghetti · 19/12/2007 14:44

deenymcqueenygoreandguts -its a tradition that started when I was a student away from home.

To get a voucher/savers card for £50 or whatever was a fantastic treat when I'd spent the year trying to be economic with supermarket spending. It meant I could blow it on luxury goodies and booze!
