Parents stockings

We are hosting my parents for the first time ever this year, and I am doing stockings. I told my mum yesterday and she got so excited as she hasn't had a stocking since she was a girl!

But I'm stuck as to what to put in to them. I've got some sweets and some puzzle books, but apart from that I haven't a clue. I don't want plastic tat but I'd love to get them some nice little gifts for their stocking, maybe some traditional type stuff, or similar. Budget isn't really an issue.

TIA

Bath stuff, food items, special Christmas decoration, hand cream

Oh how lovely! I love that she's excited for it! I don't do a stocking per se, but I do a huge gift bag for my mum and fill it with all sorts of things as well as a 'main' present. My suggestions would be:

An Air Tag and keychain for it
Perfume or other (good quality) products like bath oil or body lotion etc
Beauty products if she'd use them (nail varnish, lip balm, tinted moisturiser etc. - good quality stuff obviously)
A nice scented candle or diffuser
A CD of music she'd like (if she can still listen to CDs! My mum listens in her car)
Leather or cashmere gloves or cashmere bedsocks
Phone case
Glasses case
Nice good quality face masks (they're going to be needed for some time I think!)
A framed photo of you both together (or some other sentimental photo she'd like)
A good pen

Candles
Satsuma
Adult colouring book if you think they’d like that.
Photo in a frame
Mini bottle of wine or spirits

A crystal nail file

Cashmere socks, whisky tasting kit (Masters of Malt are fab for these and gin/tequila tasting sets), Prai serum, sudoku book, good scissors and biros as DM always looses these, Anton Berg alcohol marzipan chocolate thingies, Charbonnel et Walker hot chocolate, silk hair bobbles from Blissy, silk face masks if they wear them.

If it was my parents they would like…
DM
Gloves or wrist warmers
Mini Baileys
Nice bubble bath
Christmas scented candle
Bamboo socks
Hand cream
Nice chocolate
Homemade gingerbread
Photo frame with pic of grandkids
Small jigsaw
Sudoku book
Nice pen
Book

DF
Coffee beans
Something golf related - balls, tees, golf glove
Book
Mini whisky or brandy
Walking socks
Nice pen
Notebook
Bird poo wipes!
Crossword book

Satsumas
Adult colouring book and pencils
Warm hat scarf gloves
Mini bottle of wine
Travel mug
Lego kit
Bed socks
Chocolates

Here, the purpose of the stocking gifts is to keep the kids quiet for the morning, while the adults sort dinner.
So they usually get new colouring things and a logo set.
Or a little jigsaw or wooden puzzle. And dd loves the fact she can get away with eating her stocking crisps for breakfast!

Thanks for all the ideas!

I got some lipstick and nail polish for mum, along with nail files etc. Its the sort of stuff she never buys for herself - the stuff she's got is god knows how old!

For Dad, I've managed to track down a vintage set of aftershave and talc in "Denim" fragrance. He loved it years ago and wore it til they stopped making it so I hope he'll be pleased. I can't wait to smell it again myself!
