He’s mostly sorted, but it looks a bit joyless, so I’d like to spend about £30 on one or two fun things.
He doesn’t really do Lego etc any more.
What are you getting your tweens?

What have you got so far and what stuff does he like?
Board game
Hydraulic robot arm to build
LED lights
Poster for room
Lava lamp

Our 11.5yr old is getting an RC car, model car kit, hexbug, a couple of dice/board games, paint pens, big ton of colouring pencils, and a Jellycat (because he still loves stuffy cuddles ❤️)

My 11 year old is the hardest to buy for, he has some Mandalorian merchandise and Nintendo Switch games this year, I have also bought him some skull candy wireless earbuds

Hot chocolate station with marshmallows, sprinkles, mug and the Gnaw spoons (they do really good sets of ten or eight lumps of chocolate on the end of a Stick which you stir into hot milk)or bombs.

SheWoreYellow · 16/12/2021 14:57

He’s already got a card for his pc (no idea what that does) and a new monitor.
Also

Dressing gown
£20 magnetic cube toy thing
A good yo-yo
A calendar
Sweets
Chocolate
Rear view mirror for pc
Books
Woopee cushion

Ah chocolate spoons a good call.

He’s a very outdoor/ screen-y child, happy on his bike or in woods, awful at amusing himself in the house. Hasn’t played with toys for years. Loved coding and puzzling out ways to optimise his pc.

Thanks!

Oh and he’s got a lava lamp too.

Maybe he’s ok if I get a fun facts book and the spoons actually.

Penknife
Steel (firefighting)
Portable fire pit
Big open space so he doesn't burn the house down

I got 12yo DS Deadly Disease Trumps from Present Indicative. You might find something else there that appeals, they have loads of quirky/interesting stuff.

Beamur · 16/12/2021 15:08

Present Indicative is a fab website. Etsy also worth a look for fun/random things.

I've got my 10yr old a fact book - he loves Guineas book of records and other random facts, so I got him these:

He's learning about WW2 at school, so thought it would be good for him to learn so of these interesting facts for children about the war. amzn.to/3F2tq9b

And I shared this one before, but my son loves it - he got it as a gift and it's full of random facts about the human body. Some gross which kids love 😂 amzn.to/3sa6HnS
